Meh, Ibra will have to come in and prove it, hes 34 and been playing for a team that have bought a league for a few years in a row.

Even with that, you'd be 6/5 down in my team, and this is coming when Ent is writing off Arsenal as a nothing side

De Gea over Cech and Shaw over Monreal for me as a non biased neutral.

They are a nothing side, we were crap last year. Hardly surprising the combined team isn't flooded with United players.
Be interesting to see at the end of the season.

De Gea
Bellerin-Smalling-Koscielny-Shaw
Pogba-Cazorla
Mkhitaryan-Ozil-Sanchez
Ibra
6-5 United.
Don't really rate United's depth though.

I'd agree pretty much with GSC on the above. Hardest bit to pick is 3 out of Sanchez, Ozil, Mhitaryan and Martial.

If I were picking a side from the combined 2, it'd be Sanchez vs Martial on the left and Sanchez wins that fairly comfortably for me at the moment.

I had Sanchez on the right and Martial on the left.

Think Mkhitaryan is better on the right than Martial left. And Sanchez better left than right Imo.

We were last year, in the context of challenging and winning the big prizes.
All depends on how good our new guys are this year.

Didn't people say that they didn't see what the fuss was about with Pogba? He's popped up in all the teams mentioned so far, interesting

I believe it was relative to his world record fee as opposed to his ability in general.
Also his competition is Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Coquelin, Fellaini, Herrera, Carrick and possibly Rooney

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
I am surprised that WBA havent tried to sign Robson Kanu.
Pullis is Welsh and he would add a lot to that team, bereft of strikers and players to hold the ball up for the midfield to catch up. Ideal signing for me.

Probably more down to that Hal Robson-Kanu isn't very good at Championship level.

If get Mustafi & a forward done im happy. Anyone like Mahrez is a plus point but i doubt he'll want to obstruct Iwobi's progress.

Could be worse...they could have signed him as a player... Be interesting to see if they sign any good new defenders as a result.

havent seen him play at Championship level but I did watch him in the qualifiers for Wales and he was always a game lone striker who did the hard work very well. The kind of player that WBA needs. Maybe he needs better players around him that Reading just didnt have.
I would take a chance on him - he is a free transfer after all.

Paul Pogba has just had a bath...he feels better than he did earlier.

Just seen that Crystal Palace are after him (Robson Kanu that is , not Pogba)
Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
To be honest, those names are added because their supposed star names, rather than delivering in the PL. not really sure what the point of an Arsenal/ManU side was, other than keeping people busy, one is a serial bottler & the other couldn't even finish in the top 4.

You're on a forum, people are gonna discuss stuff.
On a sidenote, your punctuation is so similar to Liam's. Not much point to that either, but

On a free Robson-Kanu would be a fine backup for a few lower half teams.

I'll be honest, I genuinely did forget De Gea. I'd have De Gea in there, but stand by Monreal ahead of Shaw.

Shaw over Monreal isn't close for me. Possible you want to see Shaw healthy again, but if he comes back he's a far better player.

I thought Monreal was probably the best left back last season, I didn't really rate him previously, but do think he did well. Shaw is still young and completely missed last year, that kind of injury can completely change a player.

To be fair, whilst I picked Shaw, Crimey is right. At this moment in time Shaw is living a bit off his potential and reputation

And Montreal is living off what?
Agree on shaw but think both sets of fullbacks are poor. Fullbacks in general in a bit of a trough at the minute in my opinion.

Just seen baggies interested in signing Tekkers.
On the baggies, apparantly a fee has been agreed with Chester to Villa.

Makes sense, Crystal Palace are supposedly really close to an agreement so they'll have to work fast and pay the asking price.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
West Ham look like they have ended their interest in Bacca. Much being let out from the club suggests Bilic preferred the younger option in Ayew and that he will be played as a striker.
I'm a little disappointed.

Would love Benteke but can't see it, no way we can afford him and the wages.
Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Aren't the new owners richer?
If you sell Berahino for £20 million, that will cover most of the fee.
