Fee would be fine, it's just the wages. Evans is currently our highest paid on around 70k. Problem with Bera is that he's on low wages still, only 15k, that's a lot to make up on Benteke's supposed 100/120k

His request.
I'm assuming Benteke will be taking a pay cut when he moves, but not sure. He'd still likely be your highest paid player.

Agree on shaw but think both sets of fullbacks are poor. Fullbacks in general in a bit of a trough at the minute in my opinion.
Well the quite fine season he just had, that Shaw did not.
Not being terrible for once isn't exactly something to write home about.
Go ask several Arsenal fans their top 3 players of the season id bet Nacho is in most of them was the only reliable part of the defense for the season

Tried to delete his account, then asked me to do it. I don't know if it was a mood swing, so he could well be back under a different guise.

Paul Pogba is undecided as to whether or not he'll need a coat if he goes to the shops later. Pogchester Utd have assigned him a full-time advisor to assist with this.

Pogba is not banned for this week's game, he has discovered that there isn't a Pogba emoji and has gone on strike. Pogchester Utd have even spent all next season's transfer budget having the new gaming craze renamed POG-emon Go but he's not budging.

This was actually United driven Dave, someone's worked out that Sundays game kicks off at 1.30pm which doesn't really work for American audiences, so the club have delayed his debut until the following game which starts at a much more convenient 8pm

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
And the Hart to Everton rumours begin again. They'll have to pay a lot more than he's worth, fee and wages, but he's so much better than they have and they need players with his attitude.
Id say Butland and Forster should be looking at taking his spot in the England team. Once you leave a big club your blanket is gone, you lose the shine of invincibility and now we may finally get him challenged (should he leave City). Allardyce will love Forster.

Not sure it makes sense for the clubs linked to be wasting a large portion of their transfer budget on a goalkeeper.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
cant agree there ent, a top class goal keeper can make the biggest difference over a season. genuinely think we would had won another champions league if we had signed vds right after schmeichel. bartez cost us hell of alot as did the others we tried till vds came in. look at how many point de gea saved for us last season.
understand hart may not be as good as those mentioned but hes certainly a upgrade for both the teams mentioned. you think juve think they did a bad deal signing buffon all them years back for a world record fee?

No but those are top clubs with big budgets.
Doesn't make any sense for Everton to be splashing £20 million or so on a 29 year old hart - money could be spent better elsewhere.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Everton have a lot of money, they had money before Stones.
I dont think (and I hope he doesnt) Koeman sees Stekelenburg as his number one, although I get the feeling he would trust him were no better options to come along. Thus Hart would be a great signing, and also one to make Everton look like they are making moves for bigger players than seasons gone by.
To be fair to them, last few years their weakness has been spineless defending. Hart, Williams and Kone would rectify that, even if they are not top quality, because they are definite fighters.

Not sure they have that much money, would probably have kept stones if they did.
If they have a lot of dough then fair enough, I think they've a limited budget and it would be foolish to spend a huge chunk of it on a keeper.

Don't think accepting a near 50m bid for Stones says anything about Evertons budget.

We want Boros keeper I'm not going to attempt to spell the name of. Guess if he wants to play now they signed Valdes and Guzan

Liverpool have already signed a new goalkeeper, Alex Manniger...
No, but in all seriousness, Liverpool signed Loris Karius this summer who will likely be first choice once he's back from injury, he broke his hand in preseason.
Buying Hart would be stupid.

A tad melodramatic and prefer Gary Neville's opinion that with Moreno in the side we may as well start one-nil down. Unless the LB improves dramatically we can forget any reasonable tilt at top four, let alone the title.Fernando wrote:Liam Bridcutt joins Leeds from Sunderland

To get to close to what we paid for him is a really good deal when being so open about not wanting nor needing him.
No doubt he'll score at least a couple against Liverpool though.

€10m-12m bid from Barcelona for Cillessen is the the rumour.
Wolves were linked with Anderson Talisca for 25m euro's & he's ended up going to Besiktas on loan. I'd imagine Balotelli won't end up at Molineux

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
I think the only positive for Barcelona in regards to their transfer window is that Real Madrid are also having a terrible window. Real have only re-signed Morata, which doesn't look great.
Barcelona's problem is the players they have brought in feel like a step down from their usual captures. Umtiti is an okay signing, he's one for the future though. Lucas Digne was somebody both Roma and PSG fans were just consistently frustrated with. Denis Suarez is okay, but he's not Barca level, same goes for Andre Gomes, although both have time to improve.
It could be a sign that the Premier League is able to now trump those two, but I'm not sure I buy that. Pogba moved to Manchester United, but Real Madrid didn't seem to ever show concrete interest and I wonder whether Pogba would have chosen Man United if Madrid had come looking seriously. Considering the Premier League's best performing players last year were the likes of Vardy or Mahrez who aren't going to be serious targets for either of the big two in La Liga has probably contributed to it.
