Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
According to Sky: West Ham have begun talks with Chelsea over loaning Remy.
I really like Remy, but of the three we've been linked to recently, Zaza is the one I'd want as I know he is motivated, Bony and Remy could both be happy to drift. However, a Remy with effort and endeavour is such a good signing

I'd much rather have Bony and Remy over Zaza, they're both natural goalscorers whilst he simply isn't.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
His record isnt bad for someone not starting for Juve. He scored a cracking goal against us too. Plus I'm not 100% sure the benefits of workrate and physicality wouldnt outweight the instinctive scoring style of Remy.
Remy's game time bothers me most. About 950 Premier League minutes since joining Chelsea. Same worry with Bony, 1500 league minutes, plus Bony is apparently set for China in January and I'm not sure I am too keen on a player who may be worried about injury before a big money move. Zaza has played over 3000 League minutes in that time. (As per WhoScored and approximate maths)
Zaza also younger. I like them all, but all have their worries for me.

Villa want Enner Valencia (and you can have him)
What position does he play?

Your chairman wants a striker. Norwich apparently interested too. Can't see anyone but Villa paying the price

Hernandez has been linked heavily.
Seems to be on Dr X's radar.
Not seen any links with this guy.

Did a decent job, Freedman doesn't help his forwards.
But you see him vs a match fit Assombalonga and it isn't close.

Any of the options that West Ham are reportedly after would be good signings I feel. When Remy is given first team football he can be brilliant, we saw how good Bony was at Swansea too.
Zaza I haven't seen much of but it's tough to get into that Juve team especially now they've signed Higuain.

I will be surprised if Remy stays the season, he's hardly had a game and last season even Traore was played ahead of him even when Remy was fit.

Personally think the Zaha stuff is BS. Spurs are near to signing Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, who is a winger, so doubt Poch is going to really embarrass himself and go for Zaha

Mustafi to Arsenal £35m & Lucas Perez for £17m. Still don't think that solves much, they just aren't the quality Arsenal should be getting.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Mustafi is a fine defender, if it wasn't for Hummels and Boateng he would be first choice for Germany. £35m seems excessive thoughJust John wrote:Mustafi to Arsenal £35m & Lucas Perez for £17m. Still don't think that solves much, they just aren't the quality Arsenal should be getting.

Mustafi, Xhaka, Holding & Perez
If this is Wenger's last big hurrah in the market, then it can only be described as being pretty so-so. No doubting Mustafi's ability, albeit an inflated fee, but the other three don't elevate Arsenal into anything more substantial.

It did but then it came back around again because of N'Jie potentially going to Marseille.

I can't see how. Our depth is now a lot better and we've at least got 3 points on the board without Cresswell, Lanzini, Feghouli, Payet, Ayew, Carroll and Sakho. We should be fighting with Southampton Everton and maybe Stoke, same as ever, whilst I can't really think we could ever have been expecting to compete with what Man United and Liverpool were gonna do this summer.

Just think they've panicked up front. Ayew felt like a case of **** it, he's available and spending big on Zaza is a more extreme case of that now he's injured.

Cant completely disagree. They've spent all summer mouthing off, pitching ideas of Lacazette and Bacca, when really they needed to get over themselves and buy us in an option that we could use when the season started. As with every year, theyve waited and its cost us

I don't think hes a bad player but nowhere near the quality West Ham should've been looking for imo. Bony could've made a big difference.

Don't know if Bony is the player you think he is. Zaza has done more in the last few years, although he's become a bad player since he did that penalty.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Tbh, we know who Bony is, he's a prolific goalscorer in this league. He's still the same player, just paying the price for a decision based on greed, that has severely effected his stat line. I'm not sure what Zaza has done really to get excited about, 1 in 4 man at Juve & was a 1 in 3 man at Sussaulo. He's not prolific. I'd take a loan if I was WHU.
Guest- Guest
Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
IF WHU take Zaza then every penalty taken against them will be a p!ss take of his effort at the Euros...and if not, it should be!
Guest- Guest
Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
His goals per minute is pretty decent and he did enough at Sassuolo to convince Juve to sign him.
We don't know what Bony is, that's my problem. We know what he was two years ago, and if he wants to go to China in January then would you want to build an attack around him for half a season?

I suppose one argument is that he's a stop-gap cover for Ayew as he'll be back by then. However they are such different players and you'd expect West Ham are interested in forwards irrespective of signing Ayew anyway.
