Re: GGG vs Brook - 30 Day Weights
Some guys are never much above fighting weight... Froch, mayweather, some like to cut it down.
Does look like brook likes his burgers, but I think he's serious about sports nutrition... They'll have been adding some bulk to him.
It's why it's madness jumping up in weight and going in at the deep end like this. He has no experience of what it's like fighting with more bulk... What effect it has on his speed, stamina and timing. He has to find this out on the night in the biggest fight of his life against the best fighter he's ever fought.

It would be a hoot if Brook missed the weight.

Re: GGG vs Brook - 30 Day Weights
Brook cuts a lot of weight which is completely different to losing weight i.e. like Hatton.
A lot of it is water weight they will lose closer to the fight. One technique is water loading where they drink huge amounts of water daily and your body regulary needs to relieve itself. When you stop drinking excessive amounts of water close to the fight, the body still continues to relieve itself so you drop additional water weight to help lose extra pounds.
A lot of fighters will still be 15ibs over a week out of the fight. .
The reason why people make stupid catch weights is to take something out of the fighter. A prime example is Cotto having to cut an extra 2ibs against Manny and Canelo vs Mayweather. You may say it's literally a bag of sugar but when you have already struggled down to a set weight, those last pounds are torture.
GGG is still the bigger man but Kell is a huge WW.

It has little to do with size. Even if Kell was a MW he is getting stopped.
No different than Khan vs Canelo.

Suspect Brook was fully hydrated and probably after a meal for this. His condition used to have issues but he never fluw blown Ricky Hatton style blew up between fights.
The cynic in me suggests this was a bit of a ploy to add credibility to the fight in the context of the apparent huge weight disparity. From some of the Twittersphere yesterday it would appear to have worked in some quarters.

Must say I was surprised he weighed 30lbs more than were used to seeing him weigh but don't for minute suspect his team have made an major f*ck-ups like Paul Smith when he fought Ward. Not sure the weight will slow Brook down but I think he may suffer fatigue after all the adrenaline is done coursing through his veins

Wouldn't be surprised of its the marketing team that decided this
Make sure GGG doesn't eat or drink a couple hours before the weigh in, likewise do the opposite for brook give him some food and bobs your uncle you have the whole "Brook weighed more than GGG, size won't matter" to build this as a competitive fight
End matter is GGG is a bigger puncher and stronger man, with experiance against bigger men and he'll steam roll Brook
