Summerslam Results - obviously spoilers ahead people
Well that was a fabulous show up until the last two matches which just made absolutely zero sense to me
Basically ended the PPV with two non finishes - which don't really help anyone at all
A real shame because up until then it was very good. Sasha/Charlotte was superb, Balor/Rollins very good but Styles/Cena was top notch

Re: Summerslam Results - obviously spoilers ahead people
I think it sets up things perfectly.
Lesnar opening Orton up (although I think it was accidental because if you watch closely, Heyman asks subtly to Brock "Did you do that") opens up a Brock v Smackdown storyline which I think will culminate in a "legend's" return (probably The Rock) for a match at Wrestlemania.
They can have Brock as the ultimate heal going solo against the whole roster until someone returns to beat him at WM. That's the only way they can go for me as he F5'd Shane at the end.
They wouldn't have scripted that finish with that much blood with Orton only just returning - unless he was never fit to start with
Lesnar opening Orton up (although I think it was accidental because if you watch closely, Heyman asks subtly to Brock "Did you do that") opens up a Brock v Smackdown storyline which I think will culminate in a "legend's" return (probably The Rock) for a match at Wrestlemania.

Random thoughts as usual:
* Sheamus v Cesaro on the kick off show.... way to make that best of 7 series seem like anything other than a time filler for both, they deserve better.
* Assume Charlotte winning back the title so soon is part of a bigger picture in terms of the storyline.....as that one took me by surprise a bit.
* 3 non finishes on the 2nd biggest PPV of the year, whose genius idea was that.....
* Also not sure why Summerslam was held at a 16'000 capacity arena, remember the days of it feeling almost as big as Mania.....
* No Goldberg, No Taker, think it needed an OMG moment last night (as good as it was to see Nikki Bella return).
* Assume the WWE Championship will re-debut with a blue strap given the look of the Universal belt?
* Miz pretty much squashing Crews..... not a good way of making AC look like any kind of a threat if he loses in that manner.
* Lesnar looked bad ass, also wonder if the blood was set up or an 'accident' but was underwhelmed when Goldberg did not appear, would have been a cool moment.....
* Is that Ziggler leaving now? Where to go from here?
* Chuffed Balor won, he is made for the elite level and the match was great.
* Cena v Styles was exceptional and Cena deserves credit here, gives AJ real momentum now....
Hopefully RAW fills in some of the unanswered questions but for me it was underwhelming on some areas and great in others.

Surely with the face Cena was pulling at the end of his match and how he left his sweatband in the ring is a sign of a heel turn at last?

I wondered that, but they played it off as 'leaving a piece of himself in the ring' so who knows..... to me it looked like him throwing shade towards the 'never give up' phrase but when he kissed the sweatband before leaving it in the ring I was just a bit confused with it

I think the time is finally right to push the button on a turn, he's in the twilight years of his career and there's finally other guys who are taking his mantle over. Smackdown is also in need of a prominent heel figure that the fans will actually treat as a heel.

Only thing I worry about is so many smarks boo him, those same smarks may well cheer him as a heel then its a pointless move

WWE themselves are posing the question on social media as to why he left the armband in the ring, they're stirring the pot.

I guess its an easy sell as the crowd were firmly behind AJ last night and he could well turn heel using that as his fuel

I would say Takeover was considerably better, well booked, well paced, and just a better show all round

Re: Summerslam Results - obviously spoilers ahead people
I enjoyed it, but as said above i was far from impressed with the final 2 matches.
Sheamus vs Cessaro - Good match but no interest in this feud what so ever.
Tag Match - Great opening, Owens impression of Enzo was brilliant and you know i think this feud can go on another month.
Womens Match - Not as good as the mania match, but still a great watch, strange result, but interested where this is going, Rumours that Sasha is going to be added to the 30 day out club.
IC Title Match - Meh.
Styles vs Cena - Match of the night and potentially my match of the year, with Cena at the end, i would love nothing more than a heel turn, but i think we will get the usual promo on Smackdown, Praise Styles etc and he will vowel not to lose another PPV this year or something.
Tag Title Match - Was always going to struggle after that match, but keeps the feud going and it was good to see Big E back, great pop as well.
WWE Title match - As expected very good, and i would happily see the feud going into Backlash.
Womens Tag Match - Great to see Bella back, forgot how nice her ass was. That's about it really.
Universal Title - Excellent match, and absolutely delighted they have given it to Balor. Thanks to a good bit of booking and he is already on Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins level now i think.
US Title match - Meh.
Main Event - Had its moments yes and i don't know if the ending was planned, but it still was no where near what i expected. Really disappointed. With regards to Lesnar, its interesting where it goes, my guess is a feud with a Smackdown superstar at Survivor Series and leading to a match with a big returning star at Mania but who knows. Whilst i love Shane O Mac, i really hope were not going to get Lesnar vs Shane!

I was not a fan of that finish at all. My view is that Lesnar went way too far and those elbows were not part of the plan. If that is indeed the case he should be fired immediately, regardless of how big a draw he is and all that crap, if he legitimately tried hurting Randy Orton he should never be seen on WWE TV again. I guess the only guys who will know are Brock and Randy themselves. Orton would know if Lesnar went too far and I can’t image Orton would sit quietly backstage about it. If it was planned, and they went out there and said ‘Brock, open Randy up the hard way’ then it was a disgraceful decision. Randy Orton has a kid, and she should never have to witness that, but then again Brock Lesnar doesn’t give a sh*t about kids….
AJ Styles is the WWE’s MVP this year by a country mile, and I hope he’s the guy to take the title from Ambrose who for me has been massively underwhelming as Champion

It's obviously not real. Shane was F5'd after the busting open. It was a stupid decision but clearly part of the plan.

I dont mind the TKO finish, it makes Lesnar look like a complete badass again.
Shocked Charlotte won, could add fuel to the speculation about the Boss about to have a 30 day holiday.
AJ vs Cena was amazing and a definite match of the year candidate. The right outcome, and I think it was just Cena leaving a piece of himself in the ring after one of his best matches ever, I dont think it signals a heel turn at all. I also think its a sign he's going down the card a bit for a while again.
Dont know where Dolph goes from here, he lost pretty decisively so has no real claim for a rematch, surely AJ has to be the No.1 contender now?
Finn vs Seth wasnt as good as I had hoped it would be, but it was still a great match with lots of energy. I reckon we'll get another couple of good matches out of them, and Finn winning is the absolute right move.
All in all a really good show, they followed Takeover decently enough, with not a bad match on the main card. A few hiccups here and there but overall a pretty solid show.

One big worry I have is that the US title is already playing second fiddle in this feud, its more about Rusev defending Lana's honour than the title. Reigns needs to come out and remind Rusev that all he wants is the title and get the focus back on it. Im looking forward to these two tearing lumps out of each other again.

Have not seen it, but looking at the cut on Ortons head I don't think he's bladed not saying brock has purposely injured another professional, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's caught him by accident, he's hardly light handed or anything
Not that I could care less about Lesnar anyways. The highlight of Lesnar is Paul Heyman. Lesnar is average at best in the ring, heyman is the real money of that duo for me

I think we'll get Lesnar/Orton II at WrestleMania, I enjoyed the match, Orton looked like an equal and while Lesnar dominated him with the suplexes Orton has that history behind him where you know he can sustain that type of prolonged attack, perception is everything and he looked an equal, not many can say that compared with Brock but he can and I think if they play this right a re-match at WrestleMania would be momentous.
I'm unsure of what happened at the end, I genuinely don't think they intended to open Orton up, certainly not hard way anyway, I think it was just a slight mis-calculation from Brock, I obviously hope Orton is OK but if he could have took a handful of that blood and smeered it on his face that would've made for an amazing go home shot as the show went off air.
The Cena/AJ Styles match was incredible, it really was, yet another match Cena can add to his ever growing list of great matches he's been accumulating over the last 3 years, this match was the Main Event, it had everything, they had the fans in the palm of their hands, completely controlled them, it was brilliant to watch, loved Cena doubting himself, shades of Warrior at WM7...for AJ to go on and win the match clean after Cena doubting himself was brilliant booking, AJ will be the World Champion before the end of the year and i expect his reign to be a big one.

After Lesnar busted him up you can see Heyman mouth the words 'did you mean to do that?' And Lesnar replies 'yeah'.
Now possibly that's also part of the script for that to be seen but Heyman genuinely looked shocked at Lesnar's response.

Sasha is injured Id have thought Bayley would be going SD but with Nikki back and Sasha out may change tbh.
Zayn & Neville will be a long term team cos got nothing for either.
And it's been confirmed Finn Balor shoulder is dislocated appeared on TV today without a sling but he never once moved his arm.

Good start Finn! Could he not have called an audible?
I thought it was decent but confusing. Some random thoughts:
Will we see Jericho team with ANYONE they can combine his name with? Good chemistry, but Owens and Jericho could be doing more.
Crews is good but lacks...something. I don't know if its edge, or just something more than them talking about how hes nice but mixes muscle with acrobat styles.
Charlotte is fantastic and I was happy with that result
There is not enough depth for two women's and two tag titles. Have them earn a shot on their prospective shows, then have to face off against their Raw/Smackdown counterparts.
Nikki I don't get it. Who is popping for her return, and why?
Cena off for a bit then? Heel turn would make no sense right now.
Ziggler unsurprisingly left with nowhere to go now.
The main event was a mess. Interesting booking of Lesnar, but its not entertaining any more. I dont really feel I should watch his matches, hes gone from spectacular to spectacularly limited.
Underwhelming show with some absolute gold mixed in. Cena/AJ/Charlotte/Sasha you da MVPs

WWE has confirmed that Finn Balor suffered an injury to his right shoulder during his match against Seth Rollins at Summerslam. As expected, the injury occurred when Balor was powerbombed into the barricade by Rollins. Here is an excerpt from WWE.com's article:
“He hit the wall during the match, dislocated his shoulder and was able to put it back in himself in a split second,” said ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson. Bálor was able to finish the match, but Dr. Robinson noted that an MRI yielded results earlier today showing “a possible labrum tear.”
The champion is currently scheduled to receive a surgical consult that will determine the extent of Bálor’s injury, as well as if and how his reign as WWE Universal Champion will be affected.

That absolutely sucks for Balor. He still made history but thats no way for anyone to lose a title, let alone your inaugural World title.
I hope they dont just give it to Seth. I'd rather him not be in the picture for now, give someone else the shot.

Re: Summerslam Results - obviously spoilers ahead people
I thought it was a terrific show which suffered from being a little bit too long, particularly as Cena vs Styles absolutely stole the show but was so early - not sure the show truly recovered from that. What a match.
I think it was evident how lacking the 2 world title scenes are that neither match got within the final 2 matches of the PPV. How the 2 newly created (kind of) world titles can be a sideshow at the 2nd biggest show of the year is a bit mystifying.
I thought the finish was superb. It was a genuine shocker and made a talking point out of a match that in reality was really forced and artificial in terms of hype. Lesnar destroying people like Taker, Cena and Orton is only going to make it that much more special when someone comes along to beat him conclusively - my only worry is that is being set up to be Goldberg which would be a complete waste.
Charlotte v Banks was 2nd best match of the night - thought it was excellent
I'm not a NXT watcher... so this Finn Balor... does he just do dropkicks? Entrance was cool. Didn't really enjoy the match.

I take no great pleasure in saying “I told you so,” but if you’re a professional wrestler and you keep hurting opponents and or yourself, clearly you’re doing it wrong. I wrestled a very realistic and physical style and not once in 23 yrs did I ever hurt one opponent ever. Seth Rollins needs to improve his technique and become the safest wrestler in the business. I have great respect for Seth. I believe he’ll improve and hopefully stop hurting the talent before someone gets killed. Wrestlers have to trust one another. If a wrestler holds the life of another wrestler in his hands for the sake of his family, wife or children you plain and simply cannot drop it!
Bret went on to say:
I saw this coming, if anything WWE producers are negligent for not speaking up about it to him already, instead they’re probably gushing with joy, slapping him on the back telling him “great job!” Bill Goldberg was similar. When I think of Samoa Joe nearly killing Tyson Kidd, then see him continuing to use that deadly finish of his, I just shake my head. It’s not real, it’s only supposed to look real, wrestlers are not crash test dummies!
Lance Storm on Rollins injuring Balor: "...when your moves have a high risk but the risk is on YOU, I don't mind it as much...but when you're throwing guys backwards, the risk isn't on you, it's on him.."
