DeGale vs Jack Looks Done For November
Great chance for DeGale to become Britain's second genuine champ (and only the second Brit - alongside Calzaghe - to become boss at 168).
I think he can beat Jack with plenty to spare. Who do you have (and is it a closer fight than I have it)?

Think Degale should and will win, but not sure his style will ever allow him to win easily. He spends too long on the ropes and generally doing nothing that he allows opponents back in rather and to nick rounds. Jack is nothing special, but is determined and has reasonable work rate. He will be busy enough to make this closer than it should be.

Re: DeGale vs Jack Looks Done For November
have to agree with Rowley... it's possible that Degale gives us, his occasional top class performance, on rotation he's probably due one.. but he nearly threw away the dirrell fight, wasn't great against bute and laboured against beefy/fatty whatever the last guy was called.
Degale favourite, but Jack was good enough to beat groves so as fairly one dimensional as he looks, suspect this will end up with degale just doing enough.
On paper this should be a big fight, but I share the general population's apathy towards Degale as a fighter, and think he's an objectional jerk, so struggling to get excited

Not sure he needs a top class performance Milky..
Not sold on Jack....Who's best win is over another fighter I am not sold on....Groves.
You can chuck Groves at Degale..But I think Degale has come on a lot since then...Degale beats George comfortably now in my opinion..
Degale w12 unanimously and comfortably over the run of the mill Jack.

Re: DeGale vs Jack Looks Done For November
Degale's arrogance will be his undoing against Groves...again. Experience should have taught him that he will need to be on his A game but he won't. As mentioned above he'll have bursts of activity coupled with longer periods of allowing Groves to dictate things. Also as mentioned above, I can't abide DGale and couldn't care if he wins, loses or falls off the planet.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Not sure he needs a top class performance Milky..

Don't think he needs a top class performance to win truss, just think he'll take his foot off the pedal enough to keep it close as it seems he does in all his fights.

Re: DeGale vs Jack Looks Done For November
I think Degale should win, but like Rowley said, he has way too many breaks, looks classy for 30 seconds then does nothing the remainder of the round
I thought he lost to Rogelio Medina, although it was very close either way. This was due to his inactivity
I don't rate Jack that highly, he struggled badly with Bute as well
Pretty much shows how good that win Froch had over him was

Depending on where the fight is, if it's Las Vegas, a Mayweather fight(Badou Jack) isn't losing a close fight. DeGale is a decent fighter, but he only fights for 60 seconds of each round. Which would be fine if he was capable of spoiling like Bernard Hopkins, but he doesn't. Jack isn't elite but he's got enough power to catch the judges eyes.

To be fair, Bute was busted for PEDs afterwards (after he finished like a steam train).

Bute still protesting innocence, I read the traces were minimal and he's sueing the supplement company he believes are responsible.
Most protest their innocence, obviously, but this one is still running. He did indeed finish like a train though!

It's just my opinion, but it was close because of his inactivity most of the time

I only saw a couple of rounds of it to be honest Medina felt strongly he won it if you remember though the rounds I saw I thought DeGale looked fairly comfortable I did miss most of the fight though

Tunes is degale's no1 fan.
I couldn't bring myself to watch the fight... One udges had it wide, but the consensus appeared to be degale by 2-4 in a fight that was competitive and that he made hard work of.
Sounds par for the course.
