So Hatton and Casey almost got half a point against the odds and Finau's stroke of luck on the last par 3 - fine lines and ifs, buts and maybes, but not as bad as you make it out to be

Most said...and if everyone's honest we all thought that given the hammering last Ryder Cup....the amount of rookies we have and the strength of U.S. that it was pretty vital to get ahead this morning; we havent and it's a very tough ask from here.

For what it's worth think this afternoon goes 3-1 US with Garcia & Noren grabbing the point. Even Me Ryder Cup will struggle unless Rory gets another 5 years going...shocking this morning.

Yes we are 28.5-21 over last ten years....but America's huge changes to selection and way they went about Ryder Cup seemed to pay off last time out when they came out on top 5.5 -2.5

I predicted USA to be up 2.5 - 1.5 after this morning. I really thought the Rose / Rahm combo was a point in the bag.

I'm going for 2-2 this afternoon. Watson/Simpson and Mickelson/DeChambeau look marginally weaker than their opponents to me. Those middle two matches will be all about who makes the fewest mistakes.

Think we will see some great golf from the 1st and 4th matches though.

The idea is we dominate foursomes....it's a discussion being used by Europe fans and pundits to discuss a way back into it this afternoon....stats don't back up that argument certainly not in recent history...that's the point im making!

As good as Europe are playing...USA are literally choking around the course. Horrible miss from Bubba and then Dustin....as for Bryson and Phil....just truly awful!
