I'm not adverse to Trump being Mr. POTUS - in the context of being given the options that were Availible.

I think it will result in a less aggressive stance towards "the east" and middle-east so ultimately make for a more stable world, not one on the precipice of conflict. And in the long-term, a rejection of the political classes and media selection of world leaders can be no bad thing. The way the world works is in dire need of revolution, and this is kind of it happening. The fact that BBC News puts more emphasis on how "the market" reacts rather than "the people" shows how broken the world's current priorities are.

The more extreme stuff was more than likely just rhetoric to win the election (itself not commendable practice, but to be expected), and even if it wasn't, won't get through Congress.

It's all hysteria and overreaction

Not sure I see the less aggressive stance, but I don't think much will happen. What the Republicans would have done with Cruz they'll do with Trump.

Fear is easier to provoke than hope. And that has won campaigns both sides of the water. But then these things calm down and move on from rhetoric.

Whilst I agree we now have strange bedfellows of Trump and Putin I certainly don't think the world is now a safer place. He's already made it clear his views on Muslims, I can't see the Middle East calming down at all. He's also got the diplomatic skills of Prince Philip, he'll be dropping pipe bombs all over the place and unfortunately we don't have a political Heath Slater to sweep up the debris.

And I'm sure McMahon is behind the Trump/Putin alliance, that's clearly a Jannetty/Michaels storyline in the making.
