Enisei-STM making waves in Europe
Two wins on the trot now including a bonus point win over a decent Dragons team. There's a long way to go of course but making the QFs isn't as big a long shot as you'd think. They'd have to be favorites to beat Brive at home and could pick up points in the return fixtures when Brive and Wuss presumably send out their "B" teams.

Would be great to see, glad the Worcester result has been backed up. Is it a similar setup to Romania's Wolves team in that they select the best players across Russia and put them all into one team?

Was just about to post something similar. Great result for Enisei STM. Would they be better than one of the Italian teams for the PRO12?

No this is actually a club side in the Russian league which makes it all the more impressive. Also they are playing their home games hundreds of miles from their actual home to make it easier for teams to travel to. Hopefully we'll see this form translate into the national side.Artful_Dodger wrote:Would be great to see, glad the Worcester result has been backed up. Yes Artful Dodger, according to Kingsley Jones that's what they do as their season is over.

Firstly Dragons aren't a decent team. Dragons got exactly what they deserved from this, when that chopper Kingsley decided to leave our two current Welsh internationals, our captain and a few others in Wales and made like 9 changes from our win v Brive.
Considering he's meant to have inside knowledge of Russian rugby, it's embarrassing that he would make a decision like that, particularly when he should know that the Challenge Cup is usually our sole source of comfort.
Well done Enisei, but Kingsley Jones couldn't have helped you out any more if he tried either.
