Too work shy for my liking. Fearns sounded more in keeping with what I wanted. Big, abrasive, carries hard, big work rate and highly mobile. Basically a Billy Vunipola type. Morgan is too like Waldrom for me, loves the carries but in defence he's not so interested.

They know it sounds daft but suggest he's not happy at Bath, and Leicester can't afford him right now. Sale can, and Ford's girlfriend is up in Manchester.
Ford would be a great signing for Sale. A huge statement of intent if possible. How bad are things at Bath though if he's desperate to get out of a long term lucrative contract to sign for a team that is expected to finish below you in the league?
There has been musings of how Tigers would manage to crowbar three flyhalfs into their squad, unless Burns was converting to 15 to replace the outgoing Tait.
Apparently Ford has an opt out clause in his contract.
Sale...well it would be an odd one. Move to the opposite end of the country, unlikley to get European rugby.
Maybe for teh short term it would be a good move to massage his ego, and he would only be across the Pennines from his brother. Maybe if they signed his Dad first on a life time contract he'd be there in a flash.
To be fair its not like he owes Bath anything, he was quite explicit when he went there he wanted the job to get him an England cap. Hes got that now so he can show them the same loyalty he did Tigers. Maybe he could join Gloucester if they garuntee him the 10 shirt.
I wouldve thought Northampton wouldve been a better move for him, of all the top Jeff clubs they are probably the weakest at 10. Unless Tigers would take him back, but I doubt it.
Really I suspect this is actually him (his agent) stirring the pot ahead of contract renegotitation and making the point that he can walk.

Surely you'd try and make Morgan less work shy? You don't think it would have been possible?

For the money he'd want and at his age he needs to be ready for the first team. We don't need another project.

Unlikely ?? - Sale have qualified for 2 of the last 3 years and are currently in the top 6
Its by no means certain but hardly unlikely.
As Steve Diamond has said 4 or 5 big signings on the way - Ford could well be aware of that, and its makes Sale an attractive location to him.
If they do sign that number of good players Sale may well be one of the places to be next year.

Trouble is, moving to a new club is always a risk, with it hard to tell how partnerships will work out, Green and Gold did a great article on it a couple of years ago.

There's an uncertainty about all change. If I was Ford I'd want Diamond's word he intended to stay as DOR for the length of the contract on the table and the details of who else had signed and who was under discussion. Diamond is very good at getting Sale in to the top six. With some money now injected Sale have tied down theor brightest stars to long term deals which should offer some degree of certainty.
Bath have a well known coach and some cash to spend so it wouldn't exactly be the worst thing to stay put.

One transfer rumour doing the rounds today is that Glaws are about to be bought by Montpellier's owner Mohed Altrad. I believe the only issue is whether there is a conflict of interest, but there clearly is some credibility to the rumour by the club's statement http://www.gloucesterrugby.co.uk/news/13146.php#.WDMJRNKLRhE

Pelly are supposedly paying Vern Cotter more than €1 million-a-year, which I think makes him the highest paid club coach in the world.

Oh dear. That would be terrible for the AP. The Montpellier fans are being driven away from their club currently. Whether that is more the coach or the owner I don't know but they are unhappy with local players being shoved out for foreign journeymen.

Depends if the cap will be kept and enforced or not I guess which would depend how much of a game changer it is.
Glad Tigers are still holding off on a full sugar daddy approach but it is only a matter of when now unfortunately.

Where's Lineker with his crisp money when Leicester need him?
But seriously, Cotter is a francophile in the way that Jake White definitely isn't. Save for the break when doing the Scotland job, Cotter has lived in France for many years and I cannot see him looking to ship in local talent in the same way. Cotter is the guy who insisted on picking a punky little kid in the midfield from the Paris University Club when nobody in Clermont had heard of him or thought he would ever be good enough. Wesley Fofana has repaid that faith pretty well since then.
That's not to say Altrad won't make a mess of the Cherries, but by the same token let's not say that millionaire owners cannot learn their lessons.

Lineker can stay well away from Tigers.
Don't want Welford road turning into the Salt and vinegar stadium damn it.
TBH I'm sure Tigers could attract plenty of sugar daddies I mean we have a pretty damn good history.

We also have ties to several wealthy businessmen that have previously loaned the club money and then turned the debt to equity instead of demanding repayment.

If you're referring to scoring tries, then yes. I forgot they were losing Ashton to some French team because I couldn't see where Williams would fit in when Sarries rate the average Goode so highly.

Heck of a signing if you're not having us on . It would be great to see another player of that caliber playing in the Pro12.

Well he did meet with Leinster officials but NZ are playing France this weekend so I'm sure Mourad Boudjellal et al will be sniffing around too.

He is batting well above his average there. Saracens have a good reputation for looking after their players, paying good wages and winning silverware. Makes them an attractive option. I think his naturally abrasive playing style will fit in well with the Sarries aggressive defence.

Saracens do need at least one more winger with Rawaca going back to Fiji this season and Ashton signing for Toulon too.

Liam Williams will be a great fit for the 14.5 role we see in Int rugby these days, a Watson/Dagg on the wing

Sarries already have Maitland and Wyles who can offer that as well. They like a winger that can put in a nice grubber and compete in the air. Williams will thrive there.

Sanjay to Tigers was rumoured a bit at the end of last season. I wouldn't happen now though, mainly because it seems that any big budget freed up in the backs will be offered to Ford.

Shame. I think if he converts to 15 now in the Murphy style he'll get 50 international caps and if he doesn't maybe 5 more caps. It all depends on whether he can take a realistic overview or not.

TBH I don't think he is a 15 really anyway.
Haley will be the future of England 15's anyway.
Wonder what Earle will do with Williams off to Sarries, I mean he is good enough to be starting or at least on the bench really.

Lewis to Harlequins by the sounds of it.
Pienaar suits Exeter style way more than Matawalu who is more of a wing TBH.

Can't see how we would make either work financially, or indeed, be able to negotiate whilst still in the Championship. Anyone we sign is taking himself off the market so would have to be either at beginning or end of career, or plucked from obscurity.

all signings will be on the proviso we get promoted.
I wouldn't under estimate the signings we will be making.
With Venter on board and the new training facility we are still a reasonably attractive option.
