Went Charlotte and Ziggler as both have had great title feuds this year.

Charlotte has been WWE's standout heel this year so was an easy vote, she could do a Sasha and go all the way.
Continuing my theme of voting for hole grown talent I voted for my boy fae the tap end ae Stevenson. You could piece together a half decent argument for him as he's been involved in some high profile ICW stuff and established himself as a TNA regular.

Grado is just Santino with a world title run at a independent company.

Well you try growing talent from your hole. Its not as easy as it sounds, its mostly Poopie.

Slater deserves more, he generally knocks it out of the park every time hes on screen. But Ziggler actually delivered in bigger feuds, whilst Charlotte is an incredible talent

I've gone for Charlotte because she is my favourite character/wrestler in all of wrestling right now and has been all year
And I went for Slater and Rhyno, because Heath Slater changed wrestling in 2016

Re: V2 WWC 2016- 1st Round Group P
I went for Braun Strowman who has massively improved and I've actually really enjoyed him since he left the Wyatts, albeit he's mainly been involved in squash feuds.
I also went for Slater and Rhyno as their storyline is one of the more engaging ones WWE has put together in the past year.
I really think Ziggler has been stagnating for probably close to 5 years now, he was carried in the feud with The Miz and generally I've not been a great fan of work. The same problems he's had for a long time now just aren't going away. He hasn't made an effort to improve and seems happier to blame it on a lack of opportunities instead of the fact that he's not good enough.
I think Charlotte is also overrated. In the ring she's decent but I find her promos really grating. I think it might be just reminds me too much of Stephanie McMahon to enjoy her properly. Not to mention the ongoing Sasha Banks feud isn't great. As I said earlier, I don't understand Sasha Banks, I also don't really get Bayley so Charlotte has been stuck in feuds with characters who aren't engaging at all. I also find the attempt to make the woman feel more important to be so ham-fisted it's ridiculous. Smackdown has done a much better job of naturally having the woman be a larger part of the show, whilst the Raw women are being harmed by the over-the-top insistence of their importance and constant back-patting.

I don't think its been ham fisted Crimey. I genuinely believe its been the most consistent and entertaining division on Raw, so naturally should take top billing more regularly. The Universal Title scene is boring
Agree on Ziggler. It comes accross to me like he's got a chip on his shoulder about not getting the opportunities he should have done when he was on fire a few years back, and now is happy to get a paycheck

I think Owens and Jericho are entertaining but the actual title picture is boring so I agree there, however I don't think that means the women have been any more interesting. I think it's fine to have them main event, it's fine for them to have a Hell in a Cell match and all that, but it's ham-fisted that WWE have to make a big song and dance about it. It would have made more of a statement if these things were booked without it being a big deal. The fact that they are constantly patting themselves on the back about it makes it seem insincere and a really unsubtle attempt at good marketing.
They should have been getting these big matches based on the quality of work and the effort put in, instead it's being presented as a novelty and for it's own sake. This has been a massive distraction from the feud and through it Charlotte for me to properly enjoy it.

That's far too idealistic to be honest, woman have never main evented a PPV, it would be foolish not to make a big song and dance about it, maybe in time it won't be a big deal but it actually was a big deal and they were right to do it IMO

It could have been handled so much better, WWE are absolutely terrible at not patting themselves on the back for things. When you are the people making the decisions to put things where, WWE shouldn't be lauding themselves for those decisions. By all means let others praise for it and even highlight that praise, but it's very insincere when WWE themselves are doing all the praising.

It also did add to their feud, the history they were making and how striving for this had led them to the Cell. And in fact had led them to forget the kayfabe nightmare that the cell is.
Charlotte has been consistently fantastic and should be threatening to win this

Voting is now closed
As we draw a curtain over the 1st Round of the 2016 V2 WWC it's Charlotte Flair who moves into next weeks 2nd round with an impressive 21 votes, in 2nd place Dolph Ziggler advances with 8 votes
The 2016 V2 WWC continues on Monday as the 2nd Round begins

I agree with Crimey. I said at the time it felt forced and it came across as very self-congratulatory and that it was only happening so Vince and Steph could go 'Look! Look how forward thinking we are! Women power and all that! LOOK!'

I've been watching Raw and watched Hell in a Cell and I don't even think WWE did what you are accusing them of.
Yes they labelled it as historic - but it was. It was hardly a massive song and dance

I'm at work today, seeing as some feel so passionate about it I'll put Slater & Rhyno through joint 2nd unless 2 people object by the time I finish this evening, I feel like it's largely irrelevant anyways

Don't worry House - I'm not that passionate. And I voted twice.
This is a good competition and don't want to throw it into disrepute
Sling em out. Slater's purity is tainted by Rhyno anyway

I was torn so would happily have my Ziggler vote split in two and allow both through

As a Scottish person I'm used to not having a say in votes so it's nice to actually be able to influence something
