Eric Bristow - Not very helpful...
Monsters do exist....Not like in the old movies like Dracula but real monsters do exist and they are every bit as terrifying......The only good thing to come out of Jimmy Saville is that more of these monsters are being exposed and victims are being emboldened enough to come forward......Hopefully realising that because a person abused you at whatever age and you couldn't fight back... It is not a sign of weakness and that being abused isn't something to feel shame about in anyway.......
Hopefully by coming out with their stories they can find that 99.9% of human beings are to be trusted and that fruitful relationships can be made despite the baggage they carry...
Victims don't want to see their attackers again......They maybe old and frail but they carry huge intimidation value and bring nightmarish visions of a terrible time....You live in the past you stay there....(Physician heal thyself sometimes)
"Go back and sort them out"
"Dart players men...Footballers wimps"......
Statements from a bygone age...........Probably lacking any idea of what these people go through.....
Bristow probably meant well so I don't want to jump on the bandwagon of fire that is hitting him...
But I think he needs to perhaps be more clued up on the subject..

When he appeared on GMTV and apologized yet straight afterwards started retweeting people that said he was right to call them wimps showed how exactly how empty his apology was.

Of course his apology is empty.... that's the culture. Go out there and say what we want you to say and then maybe - maybe - we might allow your career to be reignited. So what does Bristow do? He goes out and lies to placate the blackmailers.
But they have eyes everywhere of course and Bristow gets watched like a hawk by the witch's monkeys.
Abuse comes in many forms.
Strange though in a very coincidental manner that this bad person (??? - Jesus, 606 censorship - you can't even print out the word!) in football story and the rising number of ex-players coming forward pops up this side of the Atlantic just when perhaps even more seismically serious accusations of a vile and depraved nature are being suppressed on the other side of the Atlantic. Strange.

On a side note the reason for the censorship of such words is that a lot of users access the site on work computers, computers that IT firewalls are picking up on keywords and monitoring the then suspect sites, by censoring then we stay under the radar for more people.

But you'll agree it's difficult to discuss difficult issues that need to be discussed in order to bring truth to the surface... it's difficult to do that work if the words associated with the evil things are themselves censored.
I kinda understand the reasons in a way but the topic itself needs to be de-tabooised (to use a neologism ) If it remains taboo to a scared media then it's allowed to flourish behind the scenes. And as in the case of Savile, I'm not so certain that lack of exposure over so many years of 'knowing' isn't in itself a version of a crime.

I'm not in any way scared of the word being used, just not wishing on any user of the site to suddenly find themselves up on a disciplinary etc for being on here.

Not really 606 I'm alluding to - but this so unsettling and curious desire in most mainstream media to only investigate occasionally, when forced, into the darker circles of the lowest form of human vice and 'special interest' communities. I find that readiness to turn the eyes away and think of other things... frightening - frightening in the possible implications behind the seeming relative apathy.
But there you go. Bristow and his attitudes are just a distracting surface veneer over a very dark 'cultural' underbelly

Bristow was an unpleasant arse when he was in his dart-playing pomp and he clearly hasn't changed very much. Still an unpleasant arse.

Bristow is a Poopie darts commentator and clearly a pretty idiotic bloke, and that is being kind tbf. Didn't he also make a comment about hating Euston station because he heard 'about 20 different languages there'?
