Parker v Ruiz
A lot of discussion about various heavy weight bouts this weekend but no mention of the Joseph Parker v Andy Ruiz fight here in New Zealand. I don't know much about Ruiz apart from the fact he is unbeaten in 29 fights. Parker seems to be motivated and looks to have learned from his Takem fight. It should be a good fight and a lot depends on the outcome so I think both will be giving it their best.

Re: Parker v Ruiz
Really looking forward to it
I'm still not sold on Parker, but this will possibly change my mind
Ruiz has actually got into shape and has Abel Sanchez in his corner, so its going to be interesting!

He normally looks like butterbean's nephew. So, what being in 'good shape' looks like for him may be more interesting than the fight.

It won't change your mind he's an ordinary lump who has no right to win a piece of the Heavy crown..
Berbick was probably the worst Champion from the 80s.......He'd play with him.....and we have Briggs v Browne as well..
Hopefully Josh cleans this stench ridden puke out sooner rather than later..

Re: Parker v Ruiz
See absolutely nothing special with Parker. Awful HW title fight. If either blows the other away inside 3 rounds i'll be impressed.
The AJ vs Molina fight is also a dud. Molina's chin will make the fight last a bit.
HW division at an all time low.

I remember how Wladimir being beaten by Fury was supposed to save the division and there'd be all these great match ups.

Isnt Ruiz the really big fat heavyweight that is a clone of Arreola with quicker hands?

Re: Parker v Ruiz
Pretty sobering to think I saw a 48 year old... half dead Foreman "beat" Briggs 20 years ago and yet by beating nobodies and making videos of himself shouting "Lets go Champ"..
He's got himself into a position where he is fighting for a "World" belt and is more than likely to win it....
I said Hopkins being successful in his late 40s was bad for the sport.....This is just the black eye of black eyes for Boxing..

Thing is Truss, it shows just how pants the division actually is!
If Briggs can come back and win a strap then what does it say?

Wow. To say Parker is now a champion Is a shame. I know Joshua is yet to be tested but he must surely now fook Klitschko off and fight Parker next year?! Absolute easy unification.

Re: Parker v Ruiz
A draw would have been a fairer decision. Ruiz won the first four and the last two rounds, and if he'd have had a knockout punch he would have stopped Parker. He took the fight to Parker and landed the more telling blows, his speed was amazing. Parker I think was lucky to get the win.

Parker was very, very lucky and Im a one eyed Kiwi. to call that a World title fight is stretching it a bit.

Re: Parker v Ruiz
I think that if Ruiz had knocked Parker down, the result would have been the same. I think that the chiselled Parker is way more marketable than Ruiz the dough boy. Still think he will get beaten by Joshua and Wilder. Wlad too probably.

Might have happened if Fury hadn't decided he'd rather get drunk and party with football fans and a few grams up his nose than defend his title like a real champ.
