still not sure valencia is good enough defender for full back and doesnt give enough going forward (crossing is very poor). he's been doing ok this season but still no end product to his game. he's set up two goals this season and scored no goals, which in the modern day full back whos main job is to add width and attack isnt great. colemans being playing in a poorer side and scored 4 more goals with same assists
we also have no decent cover, darmian i would imagine will be sold

Expecting this to be a pretty quiet day to be honest.
It's been a very quiet window.

With Valencia and Darmian I can't see that happening.

Chambers coming back on a free, L1 winger coming in for cheap.
McCormack smacks of Fawaz trying to get the fans of his back after Clough told him where to go, doubt it happens. Omar Bogle a back up option apparently

West Ham have said they aren't interested in more business.
Sold Payet, replaced him with Snodgrass. Ogbonna injured, replaced him with Fonte. Seems to me like we're saying "this season is a write-off"

Love Clough, good signing that.
- Max Gradel to join Hull City from Bournemouth
- Crystal Palace to sign Luka Milivojevic from Olympiakos for £11m
- Kamil Grosicki to sign for Hull City from Rennes
- Adlène Guedioura to join Middlesbrough
- Southampton to confirm the signing of Manolo Gabbiadini

The Ross McCormack thing has legs apparently.
Don't really see the point beyond pure vanity but at least he won't score against us like he always does

Paul Stretford is in China to discuss a potential Rooney move before the 28th of February. That would be huge for him to go so unceremoniously. It pretty much confirms that he won't last beyond the summer. On his wages though I can only see him moving to China or USA, considering he's 31 that's pretty sad. If he lowers his wage demands I imagine there will be some European clubs interested in him, maybe Italy could work as the game is slower.

Im surprised he's willing to even go out there since predominantly being a family man apart from the occasional hooker

He's played at the top level for close to 15 years, won every trophy going, broken the United scoring record. If he wants to spend his last 2-3 years in China earning megabucks fair play to him. Nothing left to prove at United.

Re: Ryan Babel in a chopper? It's the January Transfer Window thread
Saying he's only 31 is a bit misleading, he's an old weathered 31 nearing 750 career games which is a lot considering his all action style early in his career.

7 caps from an England record; he's still in those squads and must be on his mind

Re: Ryan Babel in a chopper? It's the January Transfer Window thread
Rooney only has himself to blame for being such an "old" 31 year old. Ronaldo has played more games than him but the same thing isn't happening to him. Rooney just never took care of his body, becoming overweight every summer, smoking, drinking, he's essentially ruined any chance of playing well into his thirties.

Re: Ryan Babel in a chopper? It's the January Transfer Window thread
I don't think that's a fair comparison really, Ronaldo is a natural athlete whilst Rooney isn't plus being rushed back from injury constantly for England hasn't helped.

Not to mention Ronaldos game has changed to cope with his athletic decline

Re: Ryan Babel in a chopper? It's the January Transfer Window thread
Ronaldo is just a freak of nature, plenty of actual athletes spend half the time injured.
Rooney has poured cold water on this, can see him going to the MLS - just can't see him managing a lifestyle in China. He has already earned and continues to earn crazy money (even for the modern day footballer) and not sure adding to the bank balance would be enough to take him to China.
