It's hard as he's still best chance maker in 2016, and he's had awful players around him, but I think he is also probably the reason the attitude at the club stinks.
I'd love it to be Chinese money but I think it will be Marseille

Stewart Downing will be allowed to leave on loan, with Aston Villa supposedly interested in bringing him back. Looking forward to him moving to Liverpool in 2021 then.
Crystal Palace are buying Jeffrey Schlupp for £12 million.

He's a decent enough player certainly, just never seemed to integrate with Utd for some reason.

He's not good enough on the ball for a top team, he excelled at Southampton because he had more defensive work to do.

He should be good for Everton, alongside Gueye that's a very solid midfield pairing that should allow the more creative Everton players freedom

It should be good news for Barkley. Hopefully he'll step up his performances now and hit the level expected

I would worry it's too stopper and not enough progression. Does Barkley sit ahead of them? Not quite sure of the plan with Everton, pieces missing and I'm not sure Koeman is 100% sure of how to play them

Re: Ryan Babel in a chopper? It's the January Transfer Window thread
Barkleys best form has been when he is higher up the pitch playing off Lukaku and he doesn't have to think.
When he thinks, he worries too much about making a mistake. Schneiderlins ability to cover a lot of ground, in tandem with Gana should reduce responsibility on Barkley defensively.

Except the problem was United playing him as if he was a defensive midfielder, he was always more box to box at Southampton, with Wanyama providing the defensive shield. He can now play that role at Everton with Gueye covering the defensive work.

I'd assume long-term Everton are going for:
Stekelenberg
Coleman - Williams - Funes Mori - Baines
Gueye - Schneiderlin
Bolasie - - - Barkley - - - Depay
Lukaku
Real weakness in central defence and they're really screwed still if they lose Lukaku.

To have owners who understand a bigger fee can save you long term money

What a terrible signing from West Ham that was. Worse still it coming after all the hype about signing a big name striker.

Re: Ryan Babel in a chopper? It's the January Transfer Window thread
We are now seemingly set to sign Patrick Bamford for £5 million, set to rise to £10 million with add ons.
Another absolutely baffling signing by the Boro, even more so when you consider we have already signed a striker, we only ever play one up top unless it's ten mins to go and Karanka is feeling adventurous...and worse still...talk is Traore is set to go the other way to Chelsea. Lose a wide man with pace (something we are short of as it is) and gain a player who will likely warm the bench.
I'm starting to think even old Gibson has lost his marbles.

Especially given Traore has played for both Villa and Middlesborough this season

He's only played 15 mins for us.

It stopped Ben Arfa signing for Nice a couple of years ago but i'm sure a bit of Chelsea's money will allow Fifa to make an exception.

We're linked with Jordan Rhodes & Connor Hourihane.
Would hope we sign both.
Landsbury deal looks dead.
If Rhodes signs, then McCormack would go, hearing Derby & Leeds interested.

depay on his way out, has to be one of the worse signings in recent times. although the 30 mil spouted was with add ons a lot of which he hasnt met due to being utterly cack in every appearance he made. so selling him for 16 rising to 21 isnt quite as bad as it sounds

decent signing if true dolph, always felt reid has needed a decent partner next to him. not sure ogbonna is that. and collins past his best now and even then he was still average
still need someone to bag the goals though. this or next window you really need to solve that area

I'd bet we don't do much now. Nice gap will mean they play it cheap. Sounds like we want Defoe and will play a waiting game, one I don't think we'll win

Not sure I understand why Fonte would hand in a transfer request to move from Southampton to West Ham?

Lansburys off to Villa for 3m. Good riddance tbh, club captain would rather be on the golf course than a football pitch

Good player. Will bolster our midfield.
Although won't get to excited until we see him with the Villa top at VP posing with a cheesy grin shaking Brucies hand.
Looks like Rhodes deal fell through.
Need another forward to.

cant see that happening till late on the window if true, with zaha at the afcon doubt they sell another winger so early in the window. dont see why townsend would step down to the championship. hes not brillant but hes better than that standard. hes getting plenty of games at palace

Wonder if that deal is the one that finally sees Berahino leave. Not sure it's a good deal for West Brom, Ighalo has been poor for a while now.
I think Townsend might be interested, he's struggled at Palace, Allardyce doesn't seem to be a big fan and he did well at Newcastle. He'd only be in the Championship for three months most likely.
