Interesting Ratings stat
UK Ratings for 22nd May:
TNA Sacrifice pulled 204,000 viewers; 197,000 watched the final TNA iMPACT! on Saturday.
159,000 watched Over the Limit on Sky Sports 2; WWE RAW Live garnered 110,000; and 114,000 watched WWE SmackDown over two airings.
That really surprises me! Obviously WWE is on a pay channel (skysports) but I would have thought that they still would have beaten TNA's viewers.
Just goes to show that UK audiences have taste

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
TNA being on freeview is a big boost for them and I have even caught it more than once on a Saturday night.
Let us bear in mind however, that Raw and Over the Limit were both past midnight and if we included the re-runs of both I would expect them to comfortably pass Impact (which benefits from a 9pm slot on a Saturday!).
I generally watch WWE on my laptop too...I wonder whether others do the same?

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
Think its due to the stupid times WWE shows are on, also these wont include the RAW/SmackDown repeats.

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
Potentially stupid question but i actually dont know the answer...
If you Sky+ Raw, does that count in the ratings figures?

I believe that there is a way of measuring taped programmes ( I remember there being a big furrore over the Dr Who ratings tumbling when they hadnt).
Re: Interesting Ratings stat
Would be good to know a definative answer to this as it would certainly make a difference. I imagine a hell of alot of people Sky+ Raw and other free PPVs and if Sky+'d programmes dont count in the ratings figures then its obviously not a true reflection.

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
When ratings are first released, they don't take into account programs that have been recorded. I'm pretty sure though that I have seen somewhere an article that showed the ratings for a program including repeats and recordings etc a couple of weeks after it was originally shown. I may be wrong though

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
It must take into account repeats when I think about it - can you imagine 110,000 people staying up till 4am every Monday night/ Tuesday morning?

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
TNA has been on top of WWE for a while I think in the UK, I think it's a mixture of the fact it's on freeview and it's not on at a stupid time, although Smackdown is only on at 10, but it's on a Friday when not a lot of people will be in.
If only TNA decided to pounce on this advantage and maybe hold a PPV in the UK.

I can, 110,000 isn't too many people when you think about it and plenty of people are on forums the morning after discussing RAW.
I think that the WWE is clearly the more visible and popular brand in the UK, and that many people may not watch it on Sky...I know I don't and it isn't hard to find elsewhere!
A good indicator is the scale of the UK tours carried out by WWE; they clearly do very good business here with the amount of shows they put on.

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
The UK ratings are obviously good but the WWE are on a subscription channel where as TNA are on a free station to the majority of the Nation

I was watching it last week (Sky +) and actually turned it off to let my Mrs watch Waterloo Road instead.

Re: Interesting Ratings stat
It was after I think the 3rd skit involving Bischoff and the 2nd use of Karen Angle that I thought I was losing the will to live and preferred to watch the less excruciating acting on Waterloo.
Re: Interesting Ratings stat
I really don't like Karen Jarrett at all, the whole woman scorned schtick bores me to tears, same goes with Vickie in the E
