That is an easy penalty but I can't see that was a yellow.
Yellow is utterly crazy

I think we should be kicking to the corner, why try to calm things down?

Why kick for goal at 37-7?

Unusual for the TMO to completely change the referee. But clearly the right decision.lostinwales wrote:That is an easy penalty but I can't see that was a yellow.

I'm not surprised we've seen a reaction with BV sitting on the bench.

Hes been running onto the ball rather than taking it static. BV can make something out of static ball but few others

England easing up a bit. They must play for 80 and not ease up.

Using a pod of forwards as a decoy and giving the ball to your centre - too high risk for Ireland.

It was well worked but from a technique point of view its a very poor tackle from Joseph. He pushes off from his feet quickly meaning he can't drive into the tackle. Needed to get all of his body weight behind that tackle.

Absolutely agree with that. Tackle was copybook and there's no way you can expect the player to control the ball carriers momentum from there. Players are going to start getting confused when the way they get taught all their lives is going to be carded. No way he could have adjusted mid air on that tackle, meaning, as tiger says, he needed to apply a softer approach to do so. 'Tackle hard....but perhaps not that hard'...soft.
He went above the horizontal, how on earth is the fact that's a yellow a surprise to anyone?
Didn't say it was a surprise, said it was soft. And it was.
The tackle? No,
the ruling, yes.
As a player or ball carrier I'd have been happy with that. When youre tackled by someone low and hard, as you're supposed to be tackled, you expect to land on your back.
Soft. Horizontal or not.
Anyway, it is what it is. Good game though, England finally ticking the scoreboard over this 6N with some polished tries. Good, clean match with more to come I suspect. Scotland starting to rally but England too far ahead.
Perhaps Scotland should have taken a leaf out of Italy's book instead of being drawn in by Eddies moaning...geez he's good.
