FIA Sell Outs.
Bounjourno!
So, it would appear that the FIA has decided that it is going to try and incorporate the Bahrain Grand Prix. Despite the fact it had to suspend racing because it could not guarantee the safety of the attending public, teams and drivers and equipment.
Look out if the curbs at Monza are not high enough, or the Pit Lane at Silverstone is out dated or there is just not enough commercial revenue for the FIA at Canada. BUT if you’re a rich country on the brink of civil war over democracy and cant guarantee the safety of visitors to your country, then don’t worry about it. You are rich and paying us lots of money to stage a race. Of course we are going to let you host it, we will give you a couple more months to cull the trouble makers and repress the rest of the good people into science and gladly bring our circus to your country to paper over the cracks in your society.
Then you have Sheikh Mohammed talking about the GP like it’s a great big A&E Plaster by saying: "The Grand Prix is a uniting force and that is the view of the majority of people in Bahrain, including the opposition and we look forward to this race helping Bahrain deal with the issues it went through."
Get a grip Sheikh Mohammed! The people of Monza, Silverstone, Barcelona, Valencia, Oviedo and Montreal are not daft.
It’s a Grand Prix. An ideal situation to wine and dine the rich into buying your oil so you can fund your one party country to buy more weapons to continue your repression of the knowledgeable people of Bahrain.
For the sake of Formula One and the People of Bahrain please will the FIA just listen for once?
The People of Monza implore you to pull out of Bahrain until democracy is the winner and the country can really enjoy such a spectacle. Bahrain does not need a Grand Prix. It needs to sort out its internal affairs. Only then should we allow Fernando Alonso to lead the other drivers to Bahrain to grace the tarmac.
Who else will unite with the people of Monza in calling for an end of the Bahrain GP. Lets get San Marino back instead!
Forza Alonso!

Re: FIA Sell Outs.
Very well written
Though I'd prefer to just ditch Bahrain and leave India in its orginal slot.

Re: FIA Sell Outs.
FINALLY, i agree with something you have to say.
Bernie really needs to get his prioritise right, the Bahrain GP cannot go ahead. I also agree that Bahrain should just be ditched. Plenty of other places to replace it

Re: FIA Sell Outs.
I am glad that the teams have seen sense and have reacted in the way that they have about not going to Bahrain. Just one question remains.
IF (and this is a big if considering how the season is going) the World Drivers Championship and the World Constructors Championship are still up for grabs and this GP becomes a bit like Indianapolis 2005, will the big players of the field run in the race?
I hope the answer to the question will be a resounding 'NO!'

Re: FIA Sell Outs.
Glad to see common sense has prevailed at FOTA, if not the FIA.
The teams wrote to the FIA, expressing their objection to the re-scheduling of the Bahrain GP, ostensibly because it would extend the race calendar into December (the traditional holiday time) but apparently many people were concerned by the government's actions too.
Amusingly, the FIA forgot one of its own rules, which states that the teams must agree to any changes to the race calendar.

on face or what?

Re: FIA Sell Outs.
Egg on face indeed!
What suprises me most is that Bernie is actually against the idea of the Bahrain GP... this year at least!
He has come in for a lot of well deserved critisicm over some of the track selections and deselctions and his medal system etc, but this time he seems to be thinking about the greater good of the people of Bahrain.
I dont understand why the FIA are so adament about the GP going ahead? Is it solely for commercial greed?
