Garcia Qualifies for US Open
Great to see Sergio qualifying.
I think Sergio's getting the hunger back and it would be good to see him contending at the Congressional. Not sure why Vijay pulled out of qualifying; it would be the first Major he's not played in for a long time (67).

I'd love to see Mr. Westwood do well and I wonder if Tiger's knee will make it past the first round, or even the front nine, this time?

Good to see sergio qualify he has still has the long game to win it if he can get the putter to behave.
Other noteables to qualify from his area of qualifying, Sam Saunders (arnies grandson) Steve Irwin (Hale Irwins son)

Think someone made a mistake with their research for that article. Curtis, Duval and Mediate were all a long way off qualifying according to the scores. See:

Just as noteworthy were some of the players who failed to qualify. The list included a trio of U.S. Open champions (Steve Jones, Lee Janzen and Tom Kite) and a trio of British Open champions (Justin Leonard, David Duval and Ben Curtis).

Manuel Villegas didn't get through either, can he blame his caddy! Had his brother and Tour player Camillo on his bag, to no avail

Garcia will be one of only a handful in the field to have actually won at Congressional. Ernie, KJ Choi, AKim, Tiger, can't think of any more.

Glad Sergio seems to be getting a bit of enthusiasm back for golf. Love to see him win a Major.
