On Sunday Galtova celebrates one year of being married to me. We're going to the Chelsea flower show tonight but it's not anniversary related, it's just the kind of thing we do.

I miss Jeff, even more than I miss Tino.

Congratulations to you too Galted. Not sure the flower show constitutes true Culture, but nevertheless I'm sure it will be quite boring.

The sense of abandonment does rear it's head from time to time, usually when I see Police Commissioner Mark Rowley on the news, or see any windows.

It does constitute tree culture potentially.

I normally wander around the marquees, dropping my guts. It's the perfect event for this due to the vast amount of middle-aged and elderly ladies breathing deeply and blissfully through their noses with their eyes closed.

What a day, what a day what a day. Not really. Knackered as feck. Got food poisoning from somewhere last week - now my sh*t in the pan looks like vomit. and my vomit in the sink also looks like vomit. Just one of those days. Ramadan is ideal though for getting through this bout of food poisoning and I'll remember never to eat Arabic food again. Fit bird not withstanding. Hope the rest of you had a better weekend?

I understand, the simplicity of the task is in no way indicative of how much effort it takes.

Not for me any way, not impaling myself is somewhat of a success to be honest.

Most of my friends are tradesmen of one variety or another, so I help them with legal/IT and they help me with DIY, so never had to learn how to do it.

I bought sh*tloads of tools when we moved into our flat but Galtova won't let me use them. They're now stored in a big box on the balcony which the cat uses for resting and staring.

Morning Galts, I would take them off your hands but I think that the cat will get more use out of them than me.

People do realise that in this fair country we vote for a party and policies and not a president, right...

A few months ago there was a bloke here cutting steel late in the day... a little rushed. I saw him grab the grinder - no gloves, no eye protection.
I was about to remind him about this but wasn't quick enough. It was a small dia. reo bar and the blade went through it like butter. There were a few sparks then I saw this 'rust' flying about. Turns out it clipped the fatty part of his thumb... blood everywhere.

I offered to take him to the hospital... but no, he was his own boss and didn't want to inconvenience me. Luckily it was a shallow and not too long a cut. I had to spend a few minutes hosing the trail of blood off my expensive limestone walkway.

It is a glorious shambles of a thread due, in no small part, to the superbly incompetent moderation of Navybluepissflake and Pr4wn. Every post from them is a faceplant, a personal insult or a "nonsense/absolute rubbish" with no explanation as to why.  Have to give them kudos for making politics entertaining now that Boris has slithered off.

Oh yeah... now I remember. The middle eastern restaurant experience.
Had a similar setback in Singapore during an Eid street food festival. Tucked in heavily to all sorts of curries... felt so bloated.
Then at about midnight most of it came back out quicker than it went in. I've never felt more sorry for myself.
Fasted for a few days afterwards to reset the gut bugs.  

Just give your guts a rest and leave the slaughtering to someone else for a day or so.

Yeah... Pah-ki. I like the term. It's quite quaint. (no offence... but back in the 80s everyone used it when I was in the UK) Here we went one step further with W o g  Bar (milk bars were generally owned by Italians or Greeks) My southern Euro mates were the worst offenders. They used the term so often... usually with a big grin and exaggerated accented sound... it took a while for me to stop thinking about the term. Made me laugh all the time.

Did you ever see the NY Times headline on or around Dec 7 1941? "Nips bomb US Naval Base at Pearl Harbour"... or something along those lines.

We don't have to worry about Dave anymore. We are all pretty sure he died in prison last week.

Not bad at all, really busy at the moment which is no bad thing, getting increasingly irritated by the usual election borrocks, but I think I am getting grumpy in my old age.

Gym tonight, which is always fun in this weather. Still not seen SERIAL around Bradford, but I do get the occasional feeling of unease, which may well be him.
