Over 30s Lions XV
Things have got very tense recently, it's about time for a whimsical, friendly Lions thread. One where it doesn't really matter, and in a fitting tribute to Sean 'the best Lion Britain and Ireland never had' Lamont who is hanging up his boots at the end of the year. I think an over 30s (preferably players not picked this time around if possible) could be the way to fix the cracks and bring everyone back together. How? You may argue but take Gethin Jenkins for example. In 2002, when he made his debut we were in the heady days of New Labour, Iraq was a distant land, ISIS was an Egyptian god, the EU was an accepted part of life like taxes and Clive Woodward and Trump was just a man without nuclear weapons, it was a simpler time with less tension.
So here's my attempt:
1. Jenkins
2. Ford
3. Jones
4. Hamilton
5. O'Callaghan
6. Haskell
7. Barclay
8. Heaslip
9. Care
10. Henson
11. Bowe
12. Roberts
13. Evans
14. Lamont
15. Abendanon
Was meant to be a bit of a joke but ended up showing how the Lions teams quite completely transitioned their teams between 2010 and 2014, there don't seem to be that many players still knocking about over 30.
