Great signing!
Until Sanchez goes and it's back to square one.

I think Lukaku might prefer United over Chelsea tbh. His friendship with Pogba could well be the key here.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
Liverpool are getting closer to signing Naby Keita which would be a real coup. Deal could be worth potentially £70+ million.
It's a little bit of a strange one as centre midfield does seem to be one of the stronger areas of the squad and it would likely mean Lallana dropping out of the first XI completely, with a midfield three of Coutinho-Henderson-Keita looking most likely.
Glad to see Liverpool competing for the most exciting young prospects for a change though.

You know that already they're filming some Grime video with Stormzy to announce the deal.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
What is it with clubs all of a sudden putting these video packages together to announce signings, its like somebody has been watching too much WWE when they have 'coming soon' videos for new talent
Although I must admit I chuckled at the Villa whatsapp one
Crimey, nothing wrong with squad depth though. Lallana doesn't really come across as a player who would whinge either if he wasn't playing every single game.....the flip side of this though could be whether there are any truth in the rumours in Liverpool setting their price for Coutinho

Keita is a real decent looking player but 70m is a massive overpay when there's the likes of Bakayoko, Fabinho, Kessie etc all moving this summer for half that value.

40m given his age and its a big premier league team buying him would seem fair
Then again, Leipzig see themselves as a top side and have no financial need to sell

Agree with that, been much maligned due to the City move but if he gets regular football there's a place in the England side waiting considering Livermore has made it in

Should've added it's a fee of £6m.
It is decent business for us - we need to reduce the wage bill, and Howson is 29 and unlikely to ever be more valuable (last year of his deal I think). Still one of our best players, should be a really good pickup for Boro for the next couple of years.
Unfortunate consequence of the transfer failings of the last regime *cough* paying £7m for Yanic Wildschut *cough*

Claims United are still working on Dier and Weigl is an alternative to him and Matic.

On a totally different note...on the gaming section on here there's a space free to manage a club. Think of it like playing Football Manager on your PC but where you compete with other people and write short tactics each week. Please let me know if keen.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
Part of me wants him at Chelsea but then in some ways i kind of hope he signs for Utd. 75m is a lot of money for a striker that hasn't played in the Champions League to my knowledge and okay he's scored goals in the Prem which is highly important but yeah.

Bookies seem to think Chelsea are favourites, but I still think his friendship with Pogba is going to be a factor.

I don't think he is worth £75m tbh. Even in today's market.
But then neither is Morata. I'd be going for Sanchez or Belotti for that money

Lukaku pretty much guarantees you 25-30 goals a season - worth far more than Belotti

Belotti is playing abroad though so you've got to factor in the "well I know of this player that you haven't watched enough of" value that is added on.

When you're paying that much I'd want to take as much projection as possible out the window. That you know Lukaku is prolific in the PL, that adds value imo.

Other added bonuses in Lukaku to Utd is he's already based in the N.West and his bromance with Pogba which hopefully transfers to on the pitch chemistry.

Belotti would easily match Lukaku's goal tally. Scored more goals in a more defensive league in far less games. It s a bit Premier league blinkers to think Lukaku is a better player imo and worth more.
Lukaku can be unplayable but often disappears from games. Belotti matches Lukakus goal threat and also is always in the game.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
Belotti's goals in Serie A: 44
Lukaku's in the Prem: 85
Lukaku 7 months older. Has 20 international goals to Belotti's 4. Rom also has 33 in the Belgian league too.
There are also those who question whether players whose notable success is in Serie A adapt well to the Premier League anymore, let alone whether one standout season in Serie A is enough to demand such a fee. When Ciro Immobile left the same club 3 years, he looked every bit as good. It never worked for him till he returned to Serie A this year.

Not sure seria a is a defenders paradise as it once was either. There's only juve with a great defence possibly roma. I've seen teams playing 4-2-4 recently. If they were still great defences italian teams would be doing a lot better in Europe
