Story on Martins Indi is apparently Stoke had a clause at the end of the loan for a fee, let it ride cos they were playing hardball, then agreed a fee £5m higher before now being usurped by Palace!

Heard he fell out with Allegri & Barzagli last year. Also, Bonucci & his wife want to remain in Italy, as they have a son with some ongoing health issues & don't want to move him abroad.

AC Milan are just storming it this summer transfer wise, appear to be getting Renato Sanches on loan with the option to buy at the end, and they also appear to be back in for Morata!

What a difference Chinese owners make.
People questioning Bonucci's "step down", but come the end of the season I don't think it will look like a step down. Milan should push Juve close this year.

Eh. Expecting them to click immediately is ambitious and you suspect the owners may be very ambitious which usually spells trouble for the existing staff

That should have said closer, rather than close tbh.
They might not win anything straight away, but the quality they are buying will make an immediate difference.

Pretty pleased with that acquisition for a promising English U-21 player. £12m is worth the risk.

I'd imagine we'll have some hefty sell on clauses included in there like we did with the Redmond deal.
Will he be thrown straight into the starting XI John? I fear if he is going to be your "big" signing of the summer, because personally as stated earlier in the thread I don't think he is quite PL ready yet - but no doubt he has the potential to be a very good player down the line if nurtured properly.

what formation have you been playing dolph? never convinced that hernandez can lead the line on his own. his hold up play is poor and will need decent service. give him the service and he'll get you goals but feel he needs to have a partner up with him.
arnautovic is a bit too hot and cold for me, stoke have been full of them recently with him, bojan shaqiri all guilty of it. as long as you are not overly reliant on him he'll do well in his "hot" games for you. not sure of his price tag though

4-2-3-1 id imagine, but he'll have Antonio close by and/or Arnautovic. We need someone getting in behind, Antonio will do a lot of the physical threat.
Carroll is fine sometimes, but we end up with no one capable of pressuring a defender on the ball or countering. Having no counter Frak us last year

Best to luck to Britt but disappointed he isn't trying his luck in the PL.
And yeah, parachute payments and FFP do not work. Can understand a club like Villa needing them after budgeting for the PL for so long but 1 year PL failures not as desperate

I do think there's a benefit in rewarding them long term for the achievement. I'd say clubs like Norwich have been able to run themselves very smartly thanks to using the money cautiously.

Rewarding clubs for failing to cut it at the top level in additional to the money gained from competing the PL.

Oldham have signed young striker Courtney Duffus from Everton.
Any Everton fans on here know much about him? Seemed to score a few in the youth team.

Not a great deal sorry. I remember us signing him from Cheltenham and there being a bit of a fuss about poaching.
He was part of our U23 squad last year that won PL2, but more as a squad player than a regular. Only scored a few goals.
I think there was some interest in him from Brighton in January and we are supposed to have turned a bid down.

Depending on who you want to believe Perisic to United is as good as done and expected to be finalised shortly
or
No deal is in sight, clubs way off on fee and Perisic travelling to China with Inter squad

Yeah, I heard about Brighton interest as well. Sounds like we may have a prospect, Sheridan seems to like him mentioning about his attitude, power and pace (hence signing him).

I've been fairly vocal on my wish for this transfer to not go ahead, but having read up on him and from the thoughts of guys who follow Serie A more than me I'm warming to him.

It actually feels quite good having a decent squad and staff for pre-season, gives us fans a bit of optimism for once. Just need a Keeper and a playmaker and think we will be fine, even top half finish
Rumour is Connor Ripley is coming back on loan again from Boro. If true, then we will be top half finish. My feeling he is too good for league 1 after last seasons heroics (most clean sheets in league 1 last year) for us. Really surprised a championship side hasn't come in for him.
