6 Nations tickets advice
I'm an England supporter looking to get tickets for the Scotland away game for 2018 tournament. Does anyone have advice on the best place to get hold of tickets? Best places to stay and what links are like from city centre to murrayfield? Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: 6 Nations tickets advice
Hi Propdavid,
Getting tickets:
You can get tickets from the SRU website, but they'll be limited and go pretty quickly.
Viagogo is their official ticketing partner, so they'll have some closer the time, but you may end up paying through the nose, but worth a look.
outside the ground, there are generally always folk trying to sell tickets outside, but this a clearly a risk.
6 nations tickets are becoming increasingly harder to get hold of as Scotland have got moderately better, and England is a big draw. Others may have more suggestions on the best place to get tickets.
Transport:
The famous Edinburgh tram takes you to right outside the stadium and leaves every 4 mins from the city centre. However on match days it's rammed. However if you don't plan to arrive just before KO it's a viable option. Failing that, it's only a mile from Haymarket train station, or 1.5 miles from the centre of town, so easily walkable. Or there are plenty of busses, taxis and Uber all available. What I'm saying here is unless you are on the other side of Edinburgh you're not going to struggle to get to the ground.
Accommodation:
Not sure on your budget, but there is a premer inn (might be a holiday inn) in the haymarket area (see transport chat) which is fairly central to town and easily walkable to and from the ground. If you are looking for even cheaper there is a Tune hotel right across from haymarket station above Platform 5 bar, which is heaving on match days.
If you are at the polar opposite end of the budget scale then the Caledonian hotel is just off lothain road and very very nice. Basically Edinburgh has a load of hotels/B&Bs/hostels etc, just try and stay on the west side of the city as that's where the stadium is.
Oh actually, depending on your plans obviously, but there is a Novotel and a premier Inn next to essentially a shopping complex at Edinburgh park train station. If you actually plan to go out in town etc after the game it would make staying there slightly harder, but it's right on the tram line, coming from the opposite direction from town, so should be a lot quieter pre game...but as I say you're staying at a shopping complex, so not ideal.
Any specific questions, just shout.

Re: 6 Nations tickets advice
That is great thank you EWT.
Any idea when the tickets are released for sale?
I'm just wondering if it's worth pre booking travel and accommodation and then running the ticket risk when they are released. ...

Re: 6 Nations tickets advice
SRU site seems to suggest they'll go on sale in November (http://www.scottishrugby.org/tickets-events/2018-six-nations-championship), but the SRU do a season pass thing, which went on sale (and sold out) earlier this year, so not sure how many tickets will be left after clubs & corporate partners get theirs.
I wouldn't advise either way on that one
