Lions 2017 - the decider
First topic message reminder :
After months if not years, of debate, arguments and plenty bickering the time has come - The Lions are in New Zealand and the tour has begun!
I think it is fair to say that if you're not a fan of the concept of the Lions then this isn't the thread to bring it up - we have had plenty of that over several months and the debate has been done to death. This thread will hopefully be a positive place where those excited about the tour (like me!) can talk about everything that's going on. That's until Jamie Roberts gets a callup of course...
3 June - Provincial union team (Toll Stadium, Whangarei)
7 June - Blues (Eden Park, Auckland)
10 June - Crusaders (AMI Stadium, Christchurch)
13 June - Highlanders (Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin)
17 June - Maori (International Stadium, Rotorua)
20 June - Chiefs (Waikato Stadium, Hamilton)
24 June - New Zealand (First Test, Eden Park, Auckland)
27 June - Hurricanes (Westpac Stadium, Wellington)
1 July - New Zealand (Second Test, Westpac Stadium, Wellington)
8 July - New Zealand (Third Test, Eden Park, Auckland)

Lovely stuff from NZ! Great try but what was Davies doing...jogged across with no anticipation for Laumape's movement!
Massive error from Farrell..just tried to force it too much...allowed the break and subsequent pressure..

Davies and Itoje started well but hope Farrell settles down.

Lucky bounce for the try but well executed. Let's hope that kick calms Farrell calms down. Defence needs to get to Barrett earlier. Are you listening mako

That last one isn't down to Farrell as he was holding his ground for the pass. Not played well so far though.

You always take the man with the ball it's that simple. Not a good enough performance from the team though, too error-strewn.

First good kick of the day there for Lions by Murray. Itoje is in beast mode today.

He's just seen Daly do that and jd not back up. Understandable to stand off then tackle.

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
This is what happens when the coach buys into the hype of a victory instead of looking at it sensibly. All the warning signs have been their throughout this series and he has continued to ignore them.
Feel for Farrell who will be a scape goat but that 10/12 just doesnt work. Still lack physicality yet Lawes is stuck on the bench...
Just hope we can get half time in touch..going to be a long 10 mins of NZ pressure followed by Murray box kicking

Well we are pretty awful again.
BUT
The ABs are awful at the moment as well
We aren't any more awful than last week....and only 4 points down....

Luckily ABs messing up too. Winning all the contacts though. Need some territory!
Great play Davies and warburton.

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Farrell having a shocker - kick out on the full, intercept, then missed tackle and standing off??
George not being able to hook is hurting the scrum.
Daly not competing their try and Davies doddleing back
Williams poor in the air - again
Is Sexton on the pitch??

Any reason we arent trying the close range kick off to contest? Go long and no one can get up quick enough...

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Good, very error ridden, first half.
As I said before, the Sexton/Farrell 10/12 just does not work. I think Farrell has again shown his defensive weakness' on this tour. Te'o should have been on.
I do not understand why Sexton makes a good kick into the corner and the forwards do not contest the lineout...
