Sexton can also kick pretty well. Te'o has to come on for Farrell. Not that Farrell has been bad but Te'o will open them up with Davies.

Lawes should have been on earlier for AWJ. The Lions looked better when he came on.
I would have taken either Sexton or Farrell off for Te'o earlier.
Vunipola was letting the game get to him and Gatland should have seen that and pulled him earlier.

Absorbing game. NZ were the better team for 60mins. They had to be a man down for it to be a contest.

That 20 minutes from Sinckler was huge.

Sure Sexton could have kicked that as well. I really think it was a bad decision to not get Te'o on.

Gatland now has too see that Lawes and Itoje are a far better balanced than Itoje and AWJ. Henderson also has to come to the bench for the third test.

Agree about Lawes ...and Vunipola.

But - despite the risks - I felt Sexton and Farrell worked overall.

Far from perfect. But they're still alive...

If Barrett had his kicking boots on, if Williams didn't have a brain fart. There's always ifs. All that matters is is the score at the final whistle.

The lions actually won the period where the numbers were even, and lost the periods where they were a man up. Funny old game.

If the Lions didnt give away so many penalties Barrett doesnt get those chances, so you could throw in any old ifs and buts to say it could end anyway

100% Farrell the wrong call at centre. He gave soooo many yards to the ABs and gained none himself. Kept the ABs in the game. Also idiotic keeping Mako on. He deserved a red.

Good come back performance. A fair bit of panic when making decisions after the red kept nz bang in this game. Need to cut those out next week. 1 - 1!

Watching the Murray try, Sexton could have been judged as impeding the tackler... Very clever from him.

Stats make interesting reading. NZ 68% possession and territory in the 2nd half with 14 men. Tackles 65 to 122 for the Lions

Top tackler Itoje with 14 (2 missed) btw...

Hardly a joke, the ball was high so needed to jump to catch it, on reply it was clear Faumuina committed after he jumped so was plenty of potential for a yellow to be given

Also can't believe that the Lions only used the 3 subs (AWJ and the props)

Who was man of the match? For me the standout player for the Lions was SOB.
