The Rugby Championship - Buildup
First topic message reminder :
Seeing as there's only 3 matches left in Super Rugby, time to start thinking about TRC
The Australian squad are already in camp (except for their Brumbies' players), with all their Super Rugby commitments finished - Quade Cooper and Scott Higginbotham notable squad omissions, thought Quade may get a reprieve as Karmichael Hunt is out for the next 2 months

Ridiculous not to see that forward pass.

Boks can't finish, far too many 50/50 passes, far too many discipline issues and defence out widie is poor.

That is a game lost for the Bok's. Composure and Discipline were their downfall.

A 9 who crabs every ruck and a 3 who can't scrummage just the obvious problems, and a clear lack of traditional Bok physicality.

Yeah we'll just wait till his beloved Wales gets their beans...at least the ones that havent been consumed by Lions yet. Frankly, theyd probably have a better chance in the cage, less of a mauling somewhat.
Gwlad illustrates perfectly why one would think he can pat a Lion.... hilarious...

Re: The Rugby Championship - Buildup
Ruan Dreyer can't start next week. He's a walking scrum penalty.
Thoughts on the penalty at the death Biltong? I've got into this debate a few times, it's Elton's weaker side, it's reasonably close, so he doesn't have a great angle to work with and he's probably groggy from the hit he took. So there's some credence behind going for the line out and drive. I understand all of that... My only counter is that I don't trust Marx to feed a quality ball with the game on the line.

Then again you South Africans should be kinder to your livestock, feeding them up on Welshmen is nothing short of animal cruelty.

I was thinking the same thing at the time, weak side, head knock, pressure, take the line out.

We did warn the Lions not to partake in a bite of Welsh meat. But wild animals have a mind of their own

I think depending on the day, the referee and the available frontrows it can be any of a number of teams.
I don't think anyone is the clear dominant scrum though.

Re: The Rugby Championship - Buildup
Two events happened before the NZv Argentina match that some things
are more important than Rugby.
Congratulations on the Sopaga family`s new baby, condolences on the
Retalicks loss of a child.
South Africa v Australia was an excellent match to watch ,no cards to
effect the result.
NZ v Argentina was ruined by a pedantic Ref with yellow card fever.
Barrett had a Carlos Spencer day genius one minute, the a blunder
the next.Given the team fielded a solid if scrappy win for them.
The next two games will show more where the SH sides are at
NZ fielding the strongest possible side from players available
bar perhaps Luke Romano for Tuitopu, the 3 Canterbury Locks
no each others game so well.
Hopefully tomorrow two card free games SA will be better at
home ,NZ by less than 10

Good start. NZ look dangerous but S.A. have scrambled well and offered a few threats themselves.

Re: The Rugby Championship - Buildup
Fair play to the boks huge heart after last week. Blacks still look dangerous out wide,Etzebeth having a great game but the Sa scrum half is bloody awful. Kicking away possession and hop skip and jump before he makes a pass surely there's someone better to come on.my guess is the effort will tell on the Boks in the last 20 but huge improvement from SA so far

Excellent from the Boks but I still cant see how that AB try was awarded...
The AB's really living a charmed life at the breakdown, they are holding on for far too long but if ye can get away with it...

What a much improved performance from the Boks, really showed some heart and commitment. I cannot for the life of me see how that was a straight red card (not that it cost SA the game).
