Week 9 Tactics
- Hoffenheim:
- HOFFENHEIM v PSV Finkle is Eindhorn
Injuries: Schar, Hernandez, Stolz, ShabaniBaumann
Henrichs - Naldo - Sule - Toljan
Rudy - Gueye
Pulisic - Amiri - Piazon
Ibrahimovic
Subs: Hoffmann, Vogt, Kaderabek, Henrique, Jonas, Isak, Tiquinho
---
Home to PSV today, I want us to play a pressing game whenever they are in our half and utilise our pace when counter attacking.
Baumann, command your area at all times, distribute long and wide, be wary of long range efforts.
Defence, Naldo mark their striker, Sule to play as the spare man to get to any second balls. Henrichs and Toljan to overlap our wingers going forward, but track back quickly.
Midfield, Rudy and Gueye sit in front of the back four, ensure we are hard to penetrate. In possession use your passing and power to get the ball to Amiri. Amiri will use his trickery to create space and chances.
Attack, Pulisic and Piazon to run at the PSV defence, get crosses in to Ibrahimovic but on occasion cut infield, either to link with Amiri or Ibrahimovic, or to feed Henrichs and Toljan overlapping you. Shoot when it opens up. Ibrahimovic to get onto the end of every cross and pass, shoot on sight, try to spin in behind the last defender.
Substitutions
If winning: Amiri off, Henrique on. 4-5-1, Pulisic RW, Piazon LW.
If losing: Naldo/Gueye off, Jonas/Tiquinho on. All out attack, 3-1-4-2.

---------------------Neves----------------------------
----------Propper-------------Van Ginkel--------------
--------------------Zinchenko-------------------------
--------------Locadia-----Unal------------------------
Tactics:
We're going to play free flowing attacking football with our great playmakers and passers. Willems/Arias to bomb up and down all day, with Neves sitting and allowing them to go forward by protecting the CBs. Propper and Van Ginkel to get up and down the pitch, looking to get the ball into Zinchenko, who has a free role, able to be free and play wherever he wants from in the hole to out wide. The front two to cause havoc up top, work together one dropping in, one looking in behind - don't be afraid to go wide. In defence Propper and Van Ginkel sit in beside Neves, and slide from side to side offering protection
Subs: 60th min - Siem De Jong for Zinchenko, Guardado for Propper - fresh legs, same tactics
- Real Sociedad:

----------Illaramendi------------Alena--------------
----------------------Canales-----------------------
--------------Vela---------------Origi--------------
BENCH
Rulli
Emerson
Lyanco
Gaztanaga
Merino
Kean
Onyekuru
TACTICS
Play a passing game, with four in the middle. Be patient with the ball and look for opportunities, dominate possession. Vela and Origi should drift wide and look to find space, often in behind and looking to stretch out their defense which lacks pace. This should force them deeper, allowing even more space for the midfield to play lovely possession football.
Full backs should get forward at every opportunity.
Sanson is their star man in the middle of the park and he must be quickly closed down. If he gets forward then Wanyama should be straight on him, in the deeper positions Alena or Canales to press, not allowing him to settle. Looking to win the ball back very quickly and keep possession to tire them out.
SUBSITUTIONS
If winning 72 - Emerson for Canales. Play him LM in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 with Origi upfront to close the game.
If losing 72 - Onyekuru and Merino for Alena and Canales. Fresh legs in midfield, a focal point upfront. Play more direct.
- Marseille:
- --------------Pickford-------------
Semedo--Cahill--Rekik--Evra
---------------Sertic---------------
--------Sanson----Vainqueur----
-Thauvin--Ben Yedder--Konoplyanka
Subs: Pele, Doria, Sakai, Cabella, Sarr, Abraham, Audriz
-Keeping a solid back line, Cahill and Rekik to mark the forward/forwards out of the game, dont allow them any time on the ball and dont allow them to be an aerial threat
-Evra and Semedo to support the wide areas
-Evra to be more defensive with Semedo pushing on a bit more out on the right hand side, this will be the focus of our attacks with Thauvin leading the charge
-Sertic to protect the back 4 giving no chance for the final third to be exploited, screening and sitting on the attacking midfielders
-Sanson to play as a roaming playmaker, pushing into the final third to unlock the door
-The fullbacks of Sociedad are weaker so we want to exploit the wings with Konoplyanka and Thauvin running at them, putting them under huge pressure out wide
-Ben Yedder will be getting in behind, waiting for that killer pass through from Sanson
80th - Aduriz on for Ben Yedder with Konplyanka and Thauvin switching to a crossing style, looking for Aduriz
85th - Cabella on for Konoplyanka to keep the pressure on late in the game
- Ajax:
- --------------------------Krul
-------------De Ligt---Sanchez----Ake
Passlack---Ceballos----Motta----Dembele---Sinkgraven
-------------------Jesus-------Mbappe
Bench - Boer, Tuanzebe, Passlack, Locatelli, Traore, Dembele, Dolberg
Look to dominate possession and create opportunities for the front two to run in behind and finish chances.
Sanchez mark the main striker, De Ligt and Ake cover. Ake free to step up into midfield and use his ability on the ball, Sinkgraven is able to drop in as cover.
Motta is the primary holding midfielder, pick up Siggy if he is drifting between the lines. Dembele is the force from midfield, driving forward and drawing defenders to him.
Ceballos has free role in midfield, can drop deep or look to support the front two.
Passlack is a crucial outlet for us, we want him raiding down the wing to stop us getting too narrow and force their defence to keep the width.
Front two can both come short and run in behind, mix it up to prevent them marking effectively, finish everything
Subs
If lacking width, make an early sub, Motta off, Traore/Dembele on to provide it, go to 3-4-3
Winning at 70 -- replace tired midfielders, set up for the counter with Dembele/Dolberg off the bench
Losing at 70 - Traore/Dolberg on, play attacking football with a more physical presence up front
- Swansea:
- Swansea City FC
-----------------------Smithies------------------
Naughton------Fernandez---Maguire-----Olsson
--------------------Ki---------Fer--------------
Oxlade-Chamberlain---Sigurdsson-------Montero
------------------------King---------------------
Subs: Badiashile, Mawson, Taylor, Davies, Ayew
To start the season we're looking to play a containing game focusing on maintaining possession, stretching opposition positionally & draining the opponent's fitness. The midfield 5 all are comfortable on the ball so spread side to side, probing away with patience. King to move in between the CBs, and hold the ball up for late runners. FBs to double up when opportunity arises but DMs cover.
Man marking at the back, but the back four need to stay connected at all times to prevent being dragged or isolated. Balls to feet, pass and move, let them chase shadows, don't be caught over-stretching.
If we're down at midway through the second half we will up the tempo by taking one of the DMs off for Davies and move more toward 4/3/3 and bringing on fresh legs out wide with Ayew in the front line.
- Torino:
- Juan Marcos Foyth 0m
14 Pepe 2.55m
Elias Abouchabaka - 0k
10 Adem Ljajic - 9.35m
----------------Ederson
----Van Dijk----De Rossi----Chiellini
Alves---Dahoud----Benassi---Plattenhardt
----Robben------Belotti--------Falque-----
Moreria, Trent, Jagielka, Baselli, Harit, Jensen, Terrier
We have brought out the 343 this week, but we are going to press our arses off tonight, dont let the opposition have a breather at any point. We will also aim the keep the tempo as high when we have the ball, get the ball out to the the front 3 quickly. De Rossi will have licence to join the midfield if they look like they are getting outnumbered. The wingers will be using their pace and trickery to cut inside and try to draw their full backs inside, let our full backs bomb on, as they both have the energy to get back quickly, which will force either the opposition wingers to track back and stifle their attacking play, or leaving the defence outnumbered. When defending, we will hunt in packs, allow De Rossi to step into midfield to join the pressing if needs be.
Subs - 60 mins
If we are winning we will bring on Harit and Baselli for Falque and Benassi and purely counter attack, if we are drawing or losing we will bring on Harit for Plattenhardt, with the wing backs staying forward.

Nice and simple game against Torino today.
Stop Belotti from scoring and it shuts Torino down….
Our back 3 is experienced as feck.
Long raking diagonal balls from RCB and LCB
Conti & Mendy free licence to roam
Monti DLP keep it ticking over
Kessie the midfield destroyer (check how he’s started at Milan)
Rashford and Kelechi – 2 very highly rated youngsters, Kelechi has the highest minutes to goals ratio in the premierleague, these two bring the pace and power.
Side plays fast tempo direct football. Double up on Belotti and close the game out.
Papu Gomez #10 will drift wide left and Rashford wide right giving us a transitional 3-4-3 to stretch the pitch as wide as possible.
Subs: 65 mins
Mor > Papu Gomez – switch to a 3-4-3, Rashford RW Kelechi ST Mor LW
Melegoni > Montolivo – This kid is a special talent and he’ll come in to the engine room adding his legs to Kessie’s brute force
