Quarter Finals Group 2 - Vote for 2!
Greatest Musical Artist of the last 100 Years - Quarter Final 2
The King is Dead!
Probably the biggest shocker of the tournament so far as two behemoths of the music industry fall at the quarter final hurdle in Elvis & Dylan. The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix both take their place in the semis.
Here is today's quartet...
The Beach Boys
Prince
Chuck Berry
Pink Floyd

I have to go for Prince, having been around during his unparalleled 1999 - Lovesexy period, 7 years of constant reinvention and experimentation that saw 6 albums, 3 films, 4 tours, and side projects including Sheila E, The Time and Madhouse.
The only one of the four I consider a musical genius and easily the greatest live act I have ever seen.
Not sure about the second vote yet.

The moment that sums up Prince best for me is his performance on a cover of 'While my guitar gently weeps', with a stage full of music legends he stole the show with an impeccable solo and then nonchalantly chucked his guitar in the air to finish it off.

Yeah - that was the epic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance. Legend has it no-one ever saw the guitar come down again!

I went for Pink Floyd as well - for me The Final Cut rivals Life's Rich Pageant and Cold Fact as the greatest album ever.
