Hartley cleared

Now someone needs to ask the citing officer what he was thinking by citing Hartley but not Slimani ...

Nothing wrong with what Hartley did. For me it was simply his name and past that got him cited, Waste of time and money.

Also shows that citing officials need a job appraisal.

Personally I thought it was worth the citing officer flagging it for review. It's contact with a face with a closed fist. But I also think the referee got it right with a yellow card as Hartley was clearing out a different area and wasn't targetting Slimani (and entered the breakdown through the gate if there is such a thing anymore). It was wrong what he did though and was worth the yellow card.

Slimani on the other hand they got wrong at every stage. It was clearly targeting, there was intent and he even entered the breakdown from the side to make sure to connect with the head. Should have been red by the referee during the game, should have been a citing and should have been a couple of games of a ban
