First topic message reminder :

I think bailly does look a good prospect, but he is pretty raw. The spurs pairing is probably the best in tge league as a partnership. I think mendy looks an immense left back, alonso also good, I think rose is better then bertrand though, when fit. I remember a time when full backs had to defend!

That infuriates you enough to dislike him and hope he fails? I feel your dislike of him makes you ignore his decent record with mid table prem teams.

Super is wumming. Woy is a decent guy, and yes a second drawer manager, but nothing wrong with the Ferguson comparison.

Woy is on the level of Pardew, Pulis, Curbishly, Moyes, Fat Sam etc. Comparing yourself to Ferguson is absolutely hilarious and just shows how much he fancies himself and how deluded he is. Absolving himself of explaining yet another English failure to add to his inept Brazil World Cup (for which any other International manager would have had the good grace to resign) is just another example of his complete lack of humility.

I used to like Woy and thought he was too intelligent for your average footballer, but he's a very, very average manager who is part of the usual merry go round of rubbish English yo yo clubs, yet appears to think he's a great manager. Stats show he isn't, not even close.

Do the people who said Huddersfield will go down still think that? I am not saying they are great but it would seem there are at least 3 teams worse than them.

Sterling?

Sold Sterling for £49m, spent £29m on Firmino on Mane, a year later buy Salah for £37m and Mane for £35m. All three are flying at the minute, as is Sterling. Does the Sterling sale make them a selling club or just a club that is willing to trade players if necessary and deemed appropriate? Also Sterling wanted out so what are you going to? I think Liverpool fans are pretty happy with their set of forwards.

I thought they would struggle after a few weeks back but they have done OK. If I had to pick a bottom 3 now Id go:
Brighton
Stoke
Swansea
But could easily be another 8 clubs in the mix.

I'd say Huddersfield, Swansea and one other, possibly Newcastle the way they're going.
But the "quality" in the bottom half of the table is pretty awful, unsustainably so I would suggest if the Premier League wants to sell any kind of competitive product. Some real shocking "efforts" put in against the top teams recently.

Because I think they're terrible. Only seen them twice so far this season and they were awful both times, even tho' they won one of them. Having said which, they have a very soft month coming up, so I could be hopelessly wrong by the time they tee it up in February.

They played some great football last season, they have the right philosophy, sometimes it's hard to keep doing it when playing against teams which simply have better players. Bournemouth have managed it for a few years (but they have spent big in relative terms to Huddersfield) , I fear for them this year though.

If Huddersfield are terrible I am not sure the adjectives exist to describe Swansea, WH, Brighton, West brom etc.

I have been pretty impressed with Huddersfield so far.

vive la difference . . . . . .

Agree that Bournemouth's situation is becoming precarious, dropping the points they used to take home the past two years. Back 4 or 5 looking especially dodgy, but still playing some good football which I haven't seen from some others. Hope they survive.

Stupid of Swansea to get rid of Clement.
Used to watch his Dad in that wonderful QPR team. Hope Paul doesn't go the same way as Dave.

Trophy owners need to understand where the resources and history of their club are relative to the League as a whole.
Much more surprising to me that Swansea have survived so long than that they might get relegated. And difficult to see how they might bounce back.
Hope the owners lose their shirts.

Actually as an asthmatic that’s not how it always works. Some fair points JAS. I simply find it somewhat odd that the World's leading athletes, with lung function off the scale, are asthmatics. As to salbutamol and athletes, I guess their airways are pretty good as it is, but salbutamol will increase functionality up to a point, even in them.

Link here to athletes and asthma, semis it's really not uncommon at all. From what I've read nobody seems to dispute that Froome is and has always been asthmatic, or indeed finds that surprising.

Didn't they sign Karius to replace mignolet, yet he also struggled. Now left with two well paid keepers, neither looking good enough.

I think when you look at a side like Liverpool you blame the defending and keepers a lot. But they basically play a 4 2 4, against good sides you will get caught out doing that, you end up exposed unless you have real top class defensive midfielder, which they don't.
That said, great to watch and they can potentially outscore anyone.

Agree with that Diggers, they can't win consistently playing their "fab four", and they lost Henderson early on too. And Mignolet gets slagged even when he has a terrific game. Not many great goalkeepers around.

How many times is that that Liverpool have thrown away a lead this year? Interestingly they've all happened when Moreno starts instead of Robertson.

Robertson started on Friday didn't he? Don't think Moreno was even on the bench. Robertson looks steady to me, bit of an old school full back in some ways.

Moreno is injured. He is your typical bombing on full back. You take the attacking over the defending. Liverpool lack a centre mid grafter.

50+ goals this year for Kane. Thats pretty impressive, almost messiesque. I don't sering him leaving any time soon.

I see Mata doing well again, makes you wonder why Mourinho sold him, or salah, lukaku, de bruyne

Spurs don't pay though Ben, and Harry can get 200k minimum elsewhere. Kane meant to be on 120k max, it's a fortune but I'm sure he'll expect his market rate to be met. Will/can Spurs afford to do it?

Busy day this. Fantastic game LCFC vs Man U, well deserved last minute equaliser. That's two last minute goals vs Mourinho in three says - why didn't he just take Smalling off? Daft.

I like Maguire, doesn't look like an athlete but has pace for a 6 4 guy and he can definitely play. Real handful at set peices.
Vardy is like an inverse Lukaku, scores against all the big clubs. Fantastic record.

7 hat tricks this year for Kane. I heard someone describe him as being just a bit better in every aspect then you imagine. I think he us better then griezmann who barca are after.

Griezmann is a different type tho. A bit more lightfooted. (As if Barca haven’t got enough of those?) Don’t know how well Kane would fit in La Liga.
