First topic message reminder :

I think bailly does look a good prospect, but he is pretty raw. The spurs pairing is probably the best in tge league as a partnership. I think mendy looks an immense left back, alonso also good, I think rose is better then bertrand though, when fit. I remember a time when full backs had to defend!

Kane should go abroad. It's high time that top English talent went and tried life in Serie A, La Liga or Bundesliga to broaden their skills and learn to play in different situations. He's very very good in the EPL, but if he played for Barca, Juve, AC Milan, Real or Bayern, he might actually win something, and it could only be good for England internationally. Is there another team in world football who has all their players in their domestic league? I can't think of any.

Can't see him going abroad, think he already has an eye on Shearers Premier League record. To be honest what's important is to play under good managers with great players. Would anyone think it would make sense for Stones or Sterling to move abroad right now, or Rashford to leave United.
It's not like we just play 4 4 2 anymore, the systems are flexible. If a player wants to go abroad for the lifestyle then great. Other than that I really can't see it makes much difference.

A.C Milan? Harry Kane really should join the team 11th in serie a with financial difficulties.

I dont see any real reason to go abroad for the big name players unless real or barca show an.interest.

I do tjink rashford will go stale at united under jose though.

Kane reminds me of the better strikers of the 90's like Sheringham, Batistuta, Shevshenko, Raul, klinsman, Inzagh.  They didn't get space with step overs, the trickery pish or blistering pace but just found great positions off the ball and used their fist touch so well. kane is easily one of the bet players in the world at the moment.

If the English sides start doing well again in the CL then there is no need for him to go abroad, and especially not the Bundesliga or Serie A because as bad as the bottom of the EPL is this season those two leagues are often filled with utter dross in the bottom half. So not sure how moving to either of those leagues would prove anything.

His third goal yesterday was class, won the ball, lay off, keeps moving and then his first touch was just sublime, then slots it. His movement is the best I've seen by an English striker since Fowler.
Aguero sheer class again as well, can see him moving though, maybe Madrid, would he play every game there though?

The bottom half of the EPL is terrible Mac. Staying in the EPL is a bit like staying in the European Tour when you have the chance to play on the PGA Tour.
The bottom half of every league is dross Mac, that's why they're in the bottom. You can't tell me Swansea, West Ham, Newcastle or Stoke are any better than Werder Bremen, Hamburg or Stuttgart.

The point of moving to a different league is it can broaden your skillset Mac, especially internationally. British players don't do well in international football, because they've only ever played one type of football.
The best British player internationally in the last 5 years has been Bale. Kane might become the only English player who performs for his country if he went to play for a top team and learned football the patient passing game conducive to international football. Alli, Dier, Walker, Mincer Sterling could all benefit from such a move.

I can't think of a team in Europe that moves better than City. They play a press off the ball. Just the same as PSG, Bayern or Barca or even Spurs. Sterling and Walkers movement has improved a lot, I honestly can't see what you think they'll be doing differently by going abroad. Series A is different, dull as crap, doesn't pay that well and currently has weaker players and managers.

Unless Real M or Barca calls, I don’t see any of the top English players moving outside the EPL. Incentives are too vague. Salary cannot be matched and ‘being better internationally’ hardly alluring enough.
And if you’re playing in one of the proverbial top 5-6 EPL teams your chances of being in the CL are also pretty good. I really don’t blame them.

I didn't say there was DIggers, I said that if the English players want to be better internationally, it pays to play abroad in leagues which are more similar to International Football.

These players have more money than the dreams of avarice, ultimately it comes down to ambition.
Serie A would always be the third choice of league I agree, but most matches in the EPL aren't all that exciting either.

It's not homophobic in the slightest. It's a legitimate description. It doesn't insinuate that he is gay, it describes his running style as being effeminate. Sexuality doesn't even come into that. That's a quite ridiculous conflation, but I made it simply to wind people up because I knew that people who didn't understand the meaning of the word would come to that conclusion, and I wasn't wrong.

But how will they be playing differently? All the best teams are playing a similar system, City do it brilliantly under the manager who coaches it better than anyone. Should De Bruyne move, has Silva suffered for being in England?

Mincing means effeminate. That doesn't mean he's gay, nor does it even insinuate he is.
It's a description of mannerisms. I would say that David Walliams is effeminate and camp, but I wouldn't say he was homosexual. Sorry you can't see the distinction.

I'd say Walliams is almost certainly gay but has made a lifestyle choice/marriage of convenience, not that it is an insult.

Exactly, I'm not saying running in a mincing fashion as an insult either, just that it looks rather odd and ungainly.

Of course it's not derogatory. If someone is effeminate, it's just the way they are. Doesn't mean they're gay and doesn't mean it's derogatory.

If someone is said to be fat, it isn't meant as an insult it's a description.

How would you describe Sterling's running if not effeminate?

Not really my point. But I have heard call people mincers to mean gay. Im surprised you're not aware of it.

I would not class sterling's runs as particularly effeminate. But then I don't know what an effeminate run is. They dont run differently in women's foitvall.

No didn't enjoy that. What is wrong with Jose? He was clearly trying to make a point about players being able to play through injury and therefore didn't put smalling upfront and someone else at centre back. What a plonker.

Mac, I deliberately used the word because I knew it would trigger the likes of you who aren't bright enough to see the context in which it was used, and you didn't disappoint. Far too easy Mac. Mincing quite clearly refers to one's gait (that's gait, not gay) Go back and find out exactly where I inferred he was gay. It's a failure of your small vocabulary if you see a word as only having one usage and which can only be used exclusively.

Did you get your MSc with 6 tokens from a cornflake packet? How on earth can you write critically when you can't separate your own feelings from what was written? No wonder you don't have a job you can be proud of.

Seriously who's would be a manger. Hard to think Pellegrino hasn't spent all week saying keep a tight watch on Harry. Then one defender thinks the best way to treat Harry is to pretend he's literally not there. For the second goal for at least 10 seconds not one defender looked at him, does make making runs a lot easier for Kane. Fantastic ball from Alli though, looking sharp again. Just scored as I typed that!

Part 1 accomplished smoothly, Part 2 at OT next. Pellegrino's team selection just seems utterly random and with no cogniscance of who they're playing. Hiding to nothing.

Shearer got to 100 Premier League goals in 124 games, some going really, Kane can't beat that with 135 game already. Aguero second fastest in 147. He should manage that with plenty to spare.

Still not sure about Lingard, he is a decent player but given the new benchmark city are setting Utd need players that can rival Silva, De bruyne and co.

Liverpool start another 19 year old English child who smashes home a goal. Big batch of these kids are getting decent game time now, which is great to see.
