NFL.com fantasy football
I've just got an email from NFL.com saying that you can now sign up for the 2011 season. Having never played before I'm not sure I'm the person to set the league up but I'll certainly join if someone else does.
On a slightly related note, has anyone seen 'The League', the comedy show from the producers of Curb Your Enthusiasm?

It's about a few guys in Chicago who are all members of a fantasy league and some of the exploits that come about as a result of it. A lot of the situations are fairly ridiculous (much like Curb) but if you ignore that there are quite a few very funny episodes. As an example in one episode one characters team loses because Antonio Gates has a huge week and is furious, then ends up bumping into him later in the episode and confronting him about it. There are usually a few NFL stars appear in each series.

I'll join when it's up. It's the only one that I can use the draft software out of NFL, ESPN and FleaFlicker
Re: NFL.com fantasy football
I will also be quick to join up when it's ready, but agree that there is no rush!

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
The 606v2 Fanstasy Football League on NFL.com is up and running!
There is enough room in this league for 16 teams so get in while it's hot!
I've scheduled the live draft for 4th September at 6pm GMT. Thought most people would be in on a Sunday evening.
The League is called "606v2 League", the league ID is 346169 and the password is 606v2.
Hope to see you all there soon.

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
put me down, I have no Internet access at home as I have just moved house so am borrowing 'others' I played in a 16 team format last season was very good, would advise though to have no more than 2 starters at RB & WR as 16 players means that around 60+ WR and 60+ RB will be off the board by the end, it does not leave much depth to chose from when injuries occur

Lets just hope there is a game to look forward to mate !
Making the draft is crucial.
Pr4wn - if anyone misses the draft do they get auto picks ?
This happened to me one year and I ended up with 4 RBs !

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
I've already stuck the date with a reminder in my email calender and I'm sure there will be enough warning given on here!
And as I've never really done a proper live draft it should be good.
Grizz, as far as i'm aware the autopicks are done by your overall ranking list. Obviously the CPU will fill up the roster positions such as DEF/K if it's short and requires one, but otherwise will go entirely by your list and could simply fill the bench with RB's if the list falls that way

Yeah you can totally customise your list before the draft if you can't make it.
Doesn't match the thrill of actually doing it though...

I've used this site to do a few mocks and found it to be quite nice, although it goes up to 14 player mocks, still gives you a nice idea of how drafts generally go giving you an idea of where you want to pick you players depending on your position/

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
Are you going to split into conferences with 16 teams you could do 4x4 top 1 from each conference into play offs or 2x8 and have top 2 into play offs or if keep as 16 top4 teams into play offs

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
It's all settled. We have four divisions, each named after a Channel Island ;-)
The top two from each division will then enter the playoffs which occer during the last three weeks of the season iirc.

Looking at the playoff schedule it seems only the top team from each division is going though, or am I reading it wrong?

Well there is loads of time left, how about I just abandon this league, try to delete and and set one up with 20 teams?
What does everyone think to that? I think smoe of us might have missed the boat on the current league.

But if it's 20 teams then only 12 teams will have two starting QBs for bye weeks.

Re: NFL.com fantasy football
Yes, found that now.
The league can now take 20 teams (which is the maximum allowed).
The playoffs will now consist of 10 teams and will run through weeks 14, 15, 16 and 17.
