Fussball v Cape-Coast Mysterious Dwarfs
- Voter 1:
- Fussball v Dwarfs
I think this will be an ugly game of few chances. I feel the Fussball bully boy tactics will make things difficult for the more pleasing on the eye Dwarfs. To be fair to Trebs, there are a few instances where he has got Afros tactics spot on. So even though Dwarfs are a more well rounded team I think Trebs tactics will sneak a 1 - 0 win.
WIN for Fussball
- Voter 2:
- Fussball v Dwarfs
I do like both sides a lot, Fussball are unspectacular but would pick up plenty of results IRL, Dwarfs have a superb side throughout. I think Fussball would create a similar number of chances as Dwarfs, but I see the Dwarfs defence being able to handle them better than the Fussball defence would handle the Dwarfs attack, especially out wide as I see Callejon and Lozano having the beating of Valencia and Caricol. A narrow Dwarfs win for me.
- Voter 3:
- Really not as clean cut as I thought it'd be and hats off to Trebs for going for a system that won't win too many fans but it's won one here, think it is one that suits his team though going forward I'd perhaps be looking at a different strike option of even adding a partner. Afro too I think needs a new spark up front, I like Silva but domestically he's just not clicked into gear yet. Trebs realised in the last couple of weeks he badly needed to revitalise his squad and it's shown with some great purchases of late.
Fussball win

- Fussball - Split win

Shakhtar Senseless v Kalamazoo Outrage
- Voter 1:
- Senseless vs Outrage
I liked Hero's switch of formation to counter Senseless' usual style of play but it just made the game feel too congested in the middle with neither side being able to really get a foothold on the game, senseless trying to stretch the play whilst Outrage tucked their players in making them narrow to stop Jesus...was like a chess game with few clear cut chances but ultimately a touch of magic by Asensio gives the Outrage a win. (I'd have gone draw for 2 well matched sides)
Outrage win
- Voter 2:
- Shakhtar v Outrage
Got to commend the two managers for having tactics to target the others preferred formation.....pity neither played it though! We have the pace of Werner against an aging backline and Jesus going against a less skilled CB pairing without Silva. With Shakhtars WBs bombing fowards and Asensio/Dembele looking to penetrate in the gaps left, it is only this I can see separating the teams - I just don't think Pepe/Mascherano will cope.
WIN for Outrage
- Voter 3:
- haktar vs Kalamazoo - Shaktar
- Both got the tactics wrong which is highly amusing and makes for a fun game
Shaktar
+ Formation suits the players
+ The front 3 & Wing Backs
+ Jesus
- Issa Diop needs improving compared to rest of the back line
Kalamazoo
+ front 3
+ I like the way you've set up
- Thiago is a big miss for your defense
- I think playing Asensio AM & Oyarazabal LW would of been more effective
- Result:
- Outrage - split win

Re: Week 7 Results
Ebbsfleet United v Deportivo Wanka
- Voter 1:
- Ebbsfleet vs Wanka - Wanka win
Ebbsfleet feedback - think you’re overthinking this a bit mate, Goretzka right mid a big no no for me especially when Nando has Alonso at LWB. A midfield three of Bender DM, Goretzka CM and Silva AM is one of the best in the league, if played!
Wanka feedback - you’ve caught Twist off guard with the formation I think and that combined with his selection gives you a win here imo. You’ve a solid back line and CM and whilst I’d like to see more from the CAM position you have enough up top to nick a 1-0 here
- Voter 2:
- Ebbsfleet vs Wanka
Ebbsfleet look a solid side and would be difficult to break down, but they possess some nice quality too - not really sure on Goretzka out-wide and for me (I may be wrong) it leaves them a little in-balanced. I like Wanka's set-up and that trident has goals in them - their only weak link (it may be my ignorance is the keeper) but they have enough firepower today to get the job done
wanka win
- Voter 3:
- Ebbsfleet United v Deportivo Wanka
Interesting systems chosen by both teams in a tough game - Bakambu back against his old club from earlier on in the season is a nice touch to the game as well.
I think this comes down to attacking players and for me, Wanka have enough to win this close game. I rate Goretzka very highly but shouldn't be played out wide, feel like this could be trouble for Twist. I think Aduriz and Rodrigo will have just too much for the Ebbsfleet CB's.
- Result:
- Wanka - unanimous win

Re: Week 7 Results
Fiorentina Turner v Olympique Marswag
- Voter 1:
- Turner vs Marswag
Better set of tactics this week from Fiorentina. Couple of players who could do with an upgrade but I can see them causing problems. Marswag probably have the better XI, however they make two tactical errors for me. First, I'd have Fernandinho holding with Tolisso and Herrera pressing, and second, they should have made more of their wingers and got them to stretch out the three in Turner's defense. I'll give a Turner win but it is close.
- Voter 2:
- Turner vs Marsaag - Marswag win
Feedback - a tight game this one for me, for both of you I think you’re building good squads and this is a good tactical battle with both sides having good tactics out there. For me, with the injuries this week Marswag Just has the stronger XI to see them through to a narrow win, maybe with injuries flipped it would be a different result
Marswag - like this strong XI Miky my feedback as ever would be to improve on Robbin or maybe not play inverted wingers all the time as it can be a litttle predictable - Perosnalky id play Coric over Herrera but that’s just me!
Turner - just got a bit of rubbish luck with injuries this week for me really tino - love your strongest XI so I guess the feedback is to continue building better depth specifically at the back imo
- Voter 3:
- Fiorentina vs Marswag
Looking at the teams on paper, I think the Marswag spine looks really strong, very good CB pairing, Fernandinho is in terrific form in midfield and Tolisso is excellent. I'm not a massive fan of Immobile, and think he'll be out of the game up against 3 strong and physical CBs. I'd fancy the Marswag wings to look very effective if the wing backs are pushing up, which may then give Immobile the time and space that he needs
I like the Turner attack - Belotti can occupy the CBs, and the wings look good, but think Meunier and Gaya are a very effective counter, and Rugani/Vertonghen have enough to keep Belotti quiet.
This comes down to the midfield effectiveness and who can keep the ball better for me. Both attacks are potent but neither is likely to slice through the opposition at will. I'd fancy the Marswag midfield to control the game, and think they'll just manage to eke out the chances for their front 3
Marswag win this in a hard fought game
- Result:
- Marswag - split win

Re: Week 7 Results
SAS v Deportivo Moron
- Voter 1:
- SAS v Moron
I like the Moron side a lot, the problems in this game are less of their own making and more of their opponent setting up very well. I see the Moron side having a lot of possession but coming up short against the back five and midfield two of SAS, I love the Moron front three but I just see them being crowded out. At the other end, Mertens is a matchwinner and with a strike partner, and Tah injured, I see SAS nicking a winner. Narrow win for SAS.
- Voter 2:
- SAS vs Moron
SAS have attacked the weak middle and they are right to do so. Moron have gone for man-marking of the SAS forwards which is a mistake as they get drawn out of position. For it to work they should have played three at the back so they had one to cover. I can see Guedes and Richarlison having some joy but overall the Moron side isn't as strong - a new CB top of the priorities. SAS get a well deserved win.
- Voter 3:
- SAS v Deportivo Moron
SAS Attack v Moron Defence - I can only see SAS getting the better of this battle. Moron were expecting the attack outwide, but SAS have instructed them to attack centrally and at pace. None of Jorginho, Stark or De Ligt are known for their pace, and with Gervinho and Mertens, I can see them struggling with this. De ligt in particular is not quick and has a tendancy to lose concentration, which is a killer in this game. Although Moron have tried to cut supply and use their two CMs dropping back, it just isn’t enough to what SAS pose going forward.
SAS Defence v Moron Attack - SAS sitting deep, compact 5. Very physical, plus with Imbula, I can see them bullying the smaller Moron attackers out of the game. Moron will have some success running at the SAS defence, but SAS have gone so compact their won’t be room or space to do so, and Dolberg will end up becoming isolated. Another battle won easily for SAS for me.
Midfield battle – I can see Moron coming out on top here, with the combination of Soler, Rabiot and Jorginho looking better and more well balanced. But it isn’t enough to swing the game, as Olly’s tactics effectively take the midfield out of his equation (sitting deep and attacking with the pace of the attack), whilst all three of Bam’s will be occupied more defensively which leaves them toothless.
So for me an easy win for Olly, although I will add that Illicic is a bit of a passenger in this game, as Olly’s tactics don’t suit him at all
- Result:
- SAS - Unanimous win

Re: Week 7 Results
Well played Nando. I thought playing Goretzka out wide in defence but coming inside in attack would nullify Alonso. He has played in that position before.
Great game though and thanks for feedback. Onwards and upwards (or downwards this week )

Probably but what's done is done. I just need to play to my strengths now. Twice I have lost games by doing research and over thinking it. Just shows you how open this league is now

On the plus side may have to consider giving up the 750k bonus to get proper tactics in from now on

Good game as ever Marky, as you said we both tried to second guess each other, failed miserably but think my high wingers just sneaked it.
