Week 18 Results
Fussball v Fiorentina Turner
- Voter 1:
- Fussball v Fiorentina
Very hard one to call, I feel that despite the pace of Bailey and Rashford, that Fiorentina would outnumber them comfortably and cause problems, and the wingbacks of Fiorentina would get at the Fussball defence, Valencia more than capable enough to handle Wendell but I do feel Dani Alves could absolutely torment Masina at LB, I also feel Fiorentina have the striker more likely to take the odd chance in what would be a very tight game in Belotti, so while I feel Fussball are a stronger team overall, I wouldn't see them breaking this Fiorentina side down in the circumstances, and as we can't award draws, it'd be a Fiorentina win for me.
- Voter 2:
- Fussball v Turner - WIN for Fussball
As Turner's tactics are pretty much a word for word copy of information on this webpage (https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/the-beauty-of-catenaccio-style-of-football) I am giving Fussball the default win.
- Voter 3:
- Fussball vs Fiorentina Turner - Fussball win
I actually really like Tino's tactics here, and the idea of the sweeper system in particular - my only issue is I think he needs more quality going forward to pull off the smash and grab 1-0 win - and I could see someone like a Lemar or a Bailey pulling off a moment of magic from all the domination Fussball will inevitably have of the ball that means they get the win here.
Fusssball - look to improve on your defence for season 2 - I really like your attack although I would prefer to see Lemar LW and Lingard AM, than Rashford out wide in his current form. Would be tempted to play Pepe over Evans too tbh
Turner - like I said above really enjoyed the tactical approach and with a bit more quality added up top I'd fancy it to be really effective going into season 2
- Result:
- Fussball split

Re: Week 18 Results
Ebbsfleet United v SAS
- Voter 1:
- Ebbsfleet v SAS
Both teams playing the same tactics so it comes down to whose side can carry it out best. Feel that the Ebbsfleet attack will threaten the SAD defence much less than the SAS attack will threaten theirs. Ebbsfleet have the better midfield although not without concerns
Ebbsfleet
+ Nice CB partnership and left back
- Although creative look a bit lightweight in midfield.
- Locadia not good enough for a season 2 team.
SAS
+ attack obviously. Loads of ability and threat.
- midfield and areas of the defence (ie all but Koulibaly) not at the same level as the attack
- tactics have become a bit predictable. Even I knew what you would do before I read them.
- Voter 2:
- Ebbsfleet v SAS
Two strong teams, hard to separate them, but I do feel David Silva finally playing in the hole behind the striker would benefit Ebbsfleet, Lemina and Ozyakup aren't the best defensively either so I feel Silva would have space to dictate things, and in a close end to end game, it's moments like the ones David Silva can produce that would swing it in favour of an Ebbsfleet win.
- Voter 3:
- Result:
- SAS Split

Re: Week 18 Results
Shakhtar Senseless v Deportivo Moron
- Voter 1:
- Moron bt Shakhtar
- Voter 2:
- Shakhtar v Moron
I really struggled with this one as I think both sets of tactics were well done and kind of cancel each other out. If I could fence sit I would but as I have to pick a winner I am doing on which team do
I think is stronger and will carry out those tactics better. And that is Shakhtar for me. Moron have built a good young side that Hero would have been proud of, but there is a lot about them that is potential
And they still bring the inconsistency of youth. Marks team look more solid and balanced to me, although I think Bam can feel a bit aggrieved.
Shakhtar
+ class on the ball at the back and good WBs for the system
- lacking a bit of physicality in midfield. Could be bullied out of the game.
- Sabitzer and Bernard - decent as they are, don’t feel at the same level as the rest
Moron
+ this side is bursting with potential and will lots of hipster votes. weigl and rabiot in particular is mouth watering.
- need more balance between established and up and coming stars.
- Dolberg won’t be good enough for a season 2 team
- Voter 3:
- Shakhtar Senseless v Deportivo Moron
Solid tactics from both teams, tough game to call. Dolberg is excellent and im a huge fan of him but i think he needs upgrading for Bam now that we are at this stage. Dzeko will have that extra power up top to have too much for Tah and Upamecano for me and can see him getting goals that way - Shakhtar win
- Result:
- Shakhtar Split

Re: Week 18 Results
Cape-Coast Mysterious Dwarfs v Olympique Marswag
- Voter 1:
- Cape Coast vs Marswag
Marswag's main threat comes from Immobile, and I think Chiellini would get the better of him. It's a shame that they haven't been more aggressive, perhaps played Robben upfront as I do think the Cape-Coast defense could be got at.
The Marswag side looks very solid defensively and I imagine them being difficult to break down, which is very good considering their star defender is out.
I also want to praise both midfields, as I think that would be a great contest in the middle of the park.
I'm giving Cape-Coast a narrow win, but in reality I'd probably give a draw.
- Voter 2:
- Marswag bt Dwarfs (partly due to Dwarfs going 26 words over)
- Voter 3:
- Marswag vs Cape Coast - Cape Coast
+ Back 4 are solid
- Referring to Llorente in tactics when he's not starting
- Need a creative midfielder
- Need better wide players
+ Iniesta at CAM
+ Sanabria
- Strange Formation with your players
- Need to work on the back line
- Result:
- Cape-Coast Split

Re: Week 18 Results
Kalamazoo Outrage v Deportivo Wanka
- Voter 1:
- Kalamazoo Outrage v Deportivo Wanka - WIN for Wanka
The better team against the better tactics (well, Outrage's doesn't really amount to much). I think Wanka have set up for this well and countered, where possible, Outrage's big strengths.
Kalamazoo Outrage v Deportivo Wanka - WIN for Wanka
The better team against the better tactics (well, Outrage's doesn't really amount to much). I think Wanka have set up for this well and countered, where possible, Outrage's big strengths.
- Voter 2:
- Kalamazoo Outrage vs Deportivo
Nothing much wrong with Outrage's setup with a better side named this weak. I do think at CB they can be got at though, with Lenglet and Akanji unproven.
Deportivo have put good thought into their tactics and can see them getting more possession. They'd be very difficult to break down.
I think this game would come down to a quick counter attack one way or the other. Deportivo win.
- Voter 3:
- title already sewn up but for me this game end the season with a loss rather than the win.
I don't get the Werner hype machine let alone how TM can value him at £54m...must be a German thing.
really like Hysaj but the rest of the back-four I'm unsure on. Goretzka and SMS are a tidy pairing and would do a great job together - the three AM's I like as well.
wanka felt more solid today and would have enough about them to see the game out - based mainly on me preferring their attackers to Outrages defenders
tactically there's not a lot in this, both managers kept the brief erm brief, but concise enough to paint the picture. I'd have happily had this as a draw but when pushed I just thought wanka had that bit more
- Result:
- Wanka Unanimous

Re: Week 18 Results
Well done Marky on achieving 2nd place. Given what happened to me in the early part of the season, I'm absolutely delighted with 3rd and 2nd would have been a miracle.
I hope you giving me the defeat was a genuine prediction and not a tactical one. I could have tactically had you lose last week to get 2nd and chose not to.
And good game Tino, do think there could be something in your tactics with a couple of tweaks and better forwards.
Roll on season 2.

Can I just say I think it's disrespectful of trebs to question markys prediction. He called the game he saw it and shouldn't have to justify it. Better than bottling it and taking the easy route by giving a default win rather than analysing what's there

Re: Week 18 Results
Not for the first time I've voted for Tino to win this season, I feel as I vote on how I'd see a real match between the two sides going.
Last week I voted for Hero to beat Twist, Twist won the vote 2-1 but I felt if it were a real game, Ebbsfleet would have struggled to finish chances and Hero's subs would have stolen the win undeservedly.
I felt Tino matched up well, and Dani Alves v Adam Masina was a real mismatch that was the biggest difference in an otherwise close game.

You couldn't be bothered to write tactics so you copied them from another website. Don't complain because you got found out (was easy to spot as obviously wasn't your style of writing).
Your tactics amounted to your team, the first line or two and the end line. That's it. By all means take inspiration from another website but at least be bothered to reword it all properly.
Why should I analyse someone else's work?! I might have if you had actually come clean and said this is where I am taking it from. But you blatantly just passed them off as your own.

When Nando got done for copying someone else's tactics the other week.
Although I think taking them from external sources is fine personally.

Oh come off it
How is it any different from copying the previous weeks tactics? It wasn't your work, you took the easy option and tried to pass it off as your own. Trebs took the time to write his tactics so deserves it more. Why should I waste my time when you obviously couldn't either?
As I said, taking the idea from other sources is fine. But you telling me you couldn't write the idea in your own words? Why?

Regardless, I don't recall breaking a rule? Hence my complaint at a default loss..if you had just given trebs the win is have no complaints..but to punish me for breaking a non existent rule

Re: Week 18 Results
Miky, sorry. I sent the results through at the beginning of the week but they aren't showing in my sent or outbox.
Tough one to call - think both are trying to counter each other, so could be a very cagey game. Koulibaly will easily handle Locadia, then its up to the FBs vs Wings on both sides. I'd favour both sets of wide attackers, but think the extra defender will help SAS here.
Just think Malcolm and Son can rip into the Ebbsfleet wide defence, and SAS nick it
SAS WIN

Sorry - I didn't mean any disrespect. Was just saying that I hope it was genuine as there's a bit of a chequered past, let's say.
I've told Tino before that I think that the tactics could work.
As long as there's adequate justification I don't mind winning or losing

Re: Week 18 Results
Nando and Olly's game was already put as a default win on Miky's results, so that is already in the table as such.
The only game that wasn't played, or given a default win is mine v Tino's.
Miky - as its only this one, please can we just have it as a default win to Tino and move on to season 2

Surely with the potential to move two positions the game should be played?
