Kevin Pietersen is included in the fourteen man squad named by Chris Adams for the Surrey Lions’ Friends Life t20 matches against Glamorgan and Gloucestershire this weekend:

Rory Hamilton-Brown (Captain)
Steven Davies (Wicket Keeper)
Jason Roy
Tom Maynard
Zander de Bruyn
Kevin Pietersen
Matthew Spriegel
Gareth Batty
Chris Schofield
Tim Linley
Yasir Arafat
Dirk Nannes
Jade Dernbach
Gary Wilson
with pietersen the extra batsmen we all wanted which of the bowlers do you think will miss out?

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
Wilson is the only one I can say will definitely miss out!
If it were me deciding, the other two would be Spriegel and maybe Arafat.
Batty and "the other spinner" have been doing alright so far. Spriegel has done little apart from one performance in the Pro40. Also his overs can be covered by de Bruyn or RHB if necessary.
Arafat has not been fully fit of late, while Linley has been in great form recently which is in his favour, but Arafat is a proven performer in limited overs.
Tough call!
Davies
RHB
Le Roi
KP
De Bruyn
Wine Gums
"spinner who must not be named"
Batty
Dernbach
Linley/Arafat
Nannes
Hard hats will be required in the crowd...

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
Good squad, will be very interesting too see who misses out. Wilson and Spriegal would be certainties for me but final one is interesting, for me its between Schofield and Batty but more likely Schofield or Linley. Would be harsh to leave the Viscount out on current form compared to Arafats but the latter is a proven T20 performer!
1.RHB
2.Davies
3.Roy
4.KP
5.Maynard
6.De Bruyn
7.Schofield
8.Arafat
9.Dernbach
10.Linley
11.Nannes
Above would be my selection, plenty of bowling and probably the most powerful T20 batting line up in the tournament with KP added in. A spinner light but KP and Hyphen can bowl if needed and some very good seamers in there aswell!
Looking positive!

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
JimBob - thanks again for kicking off the thread.
I very much go along with Tibor's comments and expected team. This of course assumes that all in the squad are fit to play tomorrow night. I still wonder about Nannes and Arafat on that score.
Unusually, won't be at the Oval or on this thread for the game. Wedding anniversary. No further comment.

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
I would suggest Wilson, Spriegel and Linley/Arafat to miss out.
I think Schofield will play as he seems better able to score rapidly from the outset than Spriegel.
Let's hope Roy strikes some mighty 6s to mark the occasion of Guildford's wedding anniversary. It would be fitting if it is Guildford's "willow" anniversary. Hopefully it will not be a "flannel" anniversary in which he is called on to justify to Mrs Bat how much time is spent on 606v2

A bit late to the party but the team that are playing is probably what I would have chosen. Perhaps Viscount for Arafat but now way our overseas player wouldn't play. Glam batting - 13/0 after 2.

Excellent comeback from Surrey, Dernbach and de Bruyn take a bow. Need to finish the job though. KP took a fine catch right on the boundary edge to get rid of Cosgrove - very important.

Odd sort of performance. We have the power to reach this target, but will need some intelligent hitting,,,,

Good score but also a good pitch from what I can gather (been away so only just checked!).
If anyones got the batting line-up to chase it then its this one! Also what figures from Nannes 1 for 20 off 4, cant ask much more than that!

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
Well bowled by Nannes, Dernbach and De Bruyn. Arafat has been a disappointment all season, Batty should get back to bowling well in T20, but I reckon Schofield should only continue in T20 if he an justify his place as a batsman.

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
Frustrating!
On a slightly different subject I think it would be worth Surrey supporters looking out for people venturing onto other counties' pages, (as some of us do with eg Chris from Stroud!) To give a bit of friendly encouragement!
I am thinking of the likes of Connor who posted today on the Notts page - there have been a few others - it would be good to see if we can do anything to encourage more viable activity on the county pages....
With tonight's rain I imagine it was more a case of the "walk off girls" at the Oval....

Re: surrey vs glamorgan & gloucestershire twenty/20
Corporal - thanks for your kind and splendid comments about our anniversary. Mrs Bat and I actually have a few more miles on the clock than either of the anniversaries you mentioned. Three more years and it will be our 'Aravinda'!
All - clearly, a wash out all round at the end. Disappointing and frustrating with the match seeming so well poised. Just looking at the scorecard, a very mixed performance from our bowlers. Adams can only support Arafat so far ....

You are doing a fine job, JimBob.
Great line from Churchy earlier: 'Hamish Marshall was looking to go out of the ground - the only thing that went out of the ground was his off stump!'
Churchy very impressed by Dernbach's 'really good slower ball'.
