I am very, very sorry. I should have told you we have extended football practice that day. Because we needed it. Please forgive me.
We didn't know cave was so long and we left our bikes outside cave 'cos coach told us.... we won't be in there long time.

There's quite a few caves across town (I'm on the plains... no big caves) but there's not much rain here at the moment. Keep missing out.
Not planning any trips to the Undara Lava Tubes. Death traps during floods. The wet season is generally November-April in the north of the South.

I actually came away up by about £30, which was nice, the horse racing was in Pontefract, mate. There are no rich old ladies, there are some ladies that look old, but no one really makes it to a ripe old age. Most people have more hands than teeth.

Flipper must be arriving on these shores soon... if he's not already here.
Haven't noticed a run on sardines in the supermarkets though. Well not just yet anyway.

Radio 5live this morning was dedicating whole sections of their breakfast show to providing advice on how to stay cool in the heat. If you need that much help with something so basic then you probably don't deserve to live.

I think they would like it if someone died from heat stroke so that they can really flog the issue.

Think what happens is people tend to make more mistakes, and do silly things in hot weather in an attempt to save their energy. Heat stroke affects your decision making and the sapping effects of heat can make some people cut corners or misjudge things which normally wouldn't be a problem.

That's what I've got to do for about 3-4 months of the year, Jules.
Shut the curtains especially in the sleeping areas for most of the day. Walking around inside basically half naked. Clothes too much of a burden.
Even then the heat lag/stored heat - which seems to make it feel even hotter around midnight - is radiating back through the walls.
I had to have continuous air conditioning on for a few days back in January it was that bad. Don't like to do that though. (leave it on constantly)

My tip:
I also open up the front/back doors early (6am) in the morning to flush out the heat, then close them all (before 7am) to keep the cool in.
Makes it much more comfortable until at least mid afternoon on those really hot days.

I see the water level in the canals around Leeds is low. This is getting serious now.
It could affect tourism for anyone over 55... or the boat operators themselves.
