Ford just doesn't have the temperament for intense test match rugby, when the chips are down he just goes missing and his decision making falls to bits.

No one to blame for the repeated stupidity on display but the players themselves. Moronic.

The inconsistency in referee decisions today has been glaring. Both Australia and South Africa benefitting from the inconsistency. You could say it was home ground advantage...

Fun game. South Africa doing fairly well.
Stupid yellow from Hughes. The Shields one, I assume that was the try that was ruled out where Mostert knocked it backwards on his line out of Shields hands?

You may be right but you would hope to think that a referee at this level would know the laws in place. I still think that it is inconsistent.

It's a bit if a pattern today that commentary teams ain't pointing it out. They re poor as well. Earlier we saw Marshall take he mick out of French a fans bot knowing the law then quoting an out of fate law himself. Poor

Re: England Summer Tour - Part 2
I actually think this defeat is worse than last week's from an England point of view. You'll always get one off test matches that pull off a surprise result, and with the emotion of last week for the South Africans that's what happened.
This week though SA have put in a composed, team performance to follow up last week, and England have been a bit all over the place. No clear gameplan, lack of platform up front, no control in midfield and utterly brainless penalties. It's no disgrace to lose in SA but it is the manner of each defeat that has been concerning.
Big, big worries for English rugby!

Disappointing. Too many errors. Didn't think SA were all that , but they managed to derail England after that excellent start and they just couldn't settle into their game afterwards.

Deserved win for South Africa, in spite of some questionable refereeing.
Same problems for England - poor game management, inability to adjust tactics, too many errors.

That's the concern - he presumably knows the laws and it can't be down to interpretation as the player was clearly off his feet yet engaged in play so you have to wonder how he didn't award the PT and YC - I baulk at calling bias but what else is there?

Was it over the line and hence viewed as an attempt to ground? Looking for a reason why otherwise you are right. Tend to rate this reffing crew as fairly good.
Farrell was shockingly poor as captain. Few players covered themselves in glory for England. Not sure how it gets cleaned up
South Africa are looking much better. No longer the most physical team in the world though. France and Ireland are fighting for that.

Agree completely. Much worse than last week. Illustrating the poor overall play is England scored zero points after that initial surge. Zero. Just pathetic.
I’d make a point of sending Nathen Hughes home for such a silly penalty.
Ford can go too.

Pen try to SA - no issues for me, Sinks stood up first and we were drove back.
Hughes yellow - completely brainless from him deserved
Shields try - no issues, the SA defender was part off the tackle and it wasn't a ruck, he was attempting to ground.
England.....awful 2nd half. I really dispare, I wish I'd not bothered watching.

Wouldn't say these are surprising results. South Africa are, rightfully, the favourites in this series, and going 2-0 up is not a shock.

Re: England Summer Tour - Part 2
Sacking him is the easy choice; players have kept places despite not performing. The problems havent been addressed despite them plaguing the team for almost 15 months. I say 15 because despite the winning run their were glaring issues even then. However I think players really need to take a long hard look at themselves.
I wouldnt say Jones has lost the players however he does seem at a complete loss as too how stop the bleeding now. Farrells upgrade to on field captain looks a terrible decision on reflection; inability to grab the players and give them a shake when the game begins to get away from themselves. Add in shocking decision making and it gets worse.
Once again our decision making when kicking out of hand was puzzling at best.
That interview with Youngs was very very poor. Siege mentality indeed but not in a good way. That screamed of a unit who arent willing to take criticism and most tellingly who actually dont think their are as many problems as people are saying.
I said it last week; the interviews throughout this run have been telling and that right their confirmed my belief that this group isnt willing to front up and take the criticism or learn lessons. The winning run was incredible but it seems to have led to an arrogance now which is apparent from the players through to the coaches.

@sgt - Basically the same spiel as last 6 games...learn from it and go again next week. Then walked off. Very disrespectful and came across as extremely arrogant for me
Re: England Summer Tour - Part 2
And I'd completely disagree with that fro.owen. pretty silly. We get the pen try and yc as should have been still not questioned by the poor commentary and tbf 8ts a comfortable win.

Re: England Summer Tour - Part 2
I can't understand how England for the second week in a row let a lead go. They must have talked about what they should have done last week. They never kicked goals to keep the board ticking over which resulted in frustration as they had no reward for any effort.
For SA they need to address their starts. Not many teams will be so accomadating. Players seem to be enjoying their rugby again

Sa made similar decisions. You acan pick those apart all game. The officials.not knowing the laws and tbf the guy picking apart decision s is poor.

Woodward defines himself as a guy who knows everything he hasn't picked it out at all.

Re: England Summer Tour - Part 2
During that last interview, I noticed, obviously English fans, dressed in late 1800 British Army uniforms (like in the picture)..
Am I the only one that consider this disrespectful for a rugby game against the SpringBoks.
I have no issue at all with the history, etc, surrounding Zulu wars and the valor shown at Rorkes Drift, but I find this extremely distasteful and embarrassing in a sports event. It is just so arrogant... Show your support, wear your colours with pride even wear silly chicken outfits if you want, I applaud that, but this is just an insult.
Can you imagine if Welsh fans wore Welsh Guard uniforms against Argentina later tonight, or German fans playing Poland (in football) wore Nazi uniforms...

Stupid yellow from Hughes. The Shields one, I assume that was the try that was ruled out where Mostert knocked it backwards on his line out of Shields hands?
He was off his feet - so can't touch it at all either way ...
Don't think he was over the line at that point but either way this is what the laws say ...
A player on the ground without the ball is out of the game and must:
Allow opponents who are not on the ground to play or gain possession of the ball.
Not play the ball.
Not tackle or attempt to tackle an opponent.

Hughes yellow - completely brainless from him deserved
Shields try - no issues, the SA defender was part off the tackle and it wasn't a ruck, he was attempting to ground.
England.....awful 2nd half. I really dispare, I wish I'd not bothered watching.
Have to disagree with the Shields one Sgt --- he was off his feet and therefore out of the game, no business sticking his hand out to block the grounding
