Ward to continue fight
James ward came from a set down to snatch back the 2nd set from Querry yesterday, only for a bad light decision to hand Sam an overnight MTO to get his arm back into full swing.
Ward played some great returning off Querry's serve, and took advantage of Sam's arm needing two treatments for his elbow, as he began to (in J. Lloyds wrods) roll his serves in.
Play resumes today at 1:00pm on court 1.
Given that Querry has had time to recuperate his sore arm, although the condition of his elbow in unknown, he has the advantage of ranking and experience to close this match out, but Ward's determination might hamper his way forward.
So a 3rd set shootout for James Ward to try to get to the QF's of Queens. He is beginning to get his game together and looks a promising prospect for the future.
I just hope Lodger Draper doesn't try to steal the thunder from his improving ways, as Ward spent four years training at Equelite Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy, in Vilenna near Valencia...before ending up at Roehampton.

I really hope he does well, the lad. He's had a spate of good results this year and I do believe he has been given a wildcard at SW19, not sure about that, but his win against Stan was pretty good.
Biscuits or no biscuits, ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/13690851.stm ) Ward looked good yesterday, groundstrokes strong and service was accurate, just needs to stick in there and not let Querry dominate.

Yep, hoping Ward can move Querrey around to expose his movement. The slower grass this year may help him...
Surely if he can win today a wildcard has to be coming his way anyway?

Re: Ward to continue fight
This was mentioned on the commentary yesterday, and I've just been reading a snippet that Ward has a cage fighter as a trainer ...

I live a very sheltered life. What is a cage fighter?

Re: Ward to continue fight
I think if Ward was more consistant with the backhand he could easily break the top 100. And he has a better second serve than Murray.

seen that on various American cop shows. No wonder Ward said he's not likely to argue with him

Re: Ward to continue fight
Well, Ward does have a WC at Wimbly and whether he can get past Tsonga or not, at least he doesn't have to waste days playing "eat your heart out" Tennis in the Qualies, which start on Monday. So he has until the glorious 20th/21st June to prepare himself for a 1st round appearance at the Holy Ground.
I'm actually looking forward to that and the British ladies attempts to all get past the 2nd round.

One more against Tsonga, if anything it will be a great experience and a good one in preparation for Wimbledon.

James Ward through to the semi-finals at Queens - has the world gone mad?
Is James Wards run merely down to his new fitness regime?
"Ward also revealed that he has recently started working on his fitness with ex-cage fighter Diego Visotzky.
"He's taught me a lot and given me a lot of discipline," said Ward. "And obviously I'm not going to answer him back too many times." "
from the BBC report of his win over Wawrinka.
