The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Morning all. I was hoping for a lie in, but my next door neighbour clearly thinks it's a good idea to strim his garden at 07:15

Enjoy As.
Cari - as a kid I grew up in the Fens and about this time of year many moons ago, a rasping NE wind blew in. Within an hour we had 4" of snow on the ground. Then the sun came out and melted it. The fog that came with the melting was surreal for the time of year.

Nottins - they're just within the legal time limit unfortunately.
Harrow - I can't imagine snow in summer. Mind you I grew up where you'd be lucky to get in the thick of winter.

Morning all, really sore this morning. Can't be doing with hangovers anymore.
Just watching the Blues v Crusaders match, those Franks brothers have some epic beards, as does John Afoa, iHump will have to grow his back when Afoa arrives...

Kia ora all, good game in Timaru so far . Had pints with Panama & FallingTP last night, then had to wait up late as my mate who's couch surfing had flight delays getting into Gatwick. Lots of please

Is Panama as funny and Falling TP as pedantic as their 606 persona's suggest?

They're doing a mural around the back of the church so we were doing some of the painting on that. Then we played Chinese Charades.

Panama's very funny. Falling plays things up a bit online. Boy he knows a lot!

That's ok munsty you're a student. Make the most of it. However a lot of society's problems would be mitigated by people getting off tgeir bum and doing something before Midday on a Saturday.

Morning all, been up since six, not sure how constructive I've been though. Good win for the Crusaders over the Blues, can see them winning the Super XV this year.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It was a good win Pete alright. Have you seen they've got 5 games on in a row today?
Glas,
I haven't thought about how it would affect society, but if there's a day where I wake up any later than half 9, normally up at half 8, I'd be very annoyed losing out on a good part of the day.

Well, like every Saturday, I'm at work so that means sitting in the office streaming Super Rugby. In recent weeks people have been inconsiderate enough to interrupt and present me with things to do. Hopefully today will be quiet.

Pete, all work and no play etc. I'm sure you do enough in the week. Some old fashioned views are firmly based in common sense.

Not really Notch, but if you have to wait until 9 o clock to strimmer your garden on a Saturday in case you risk waking hungover neighbours I wonder what that tells us about modern society.

It was Notch. That's why it was such a shame when the Tahs decided to stop playing rugby as it meant we didn't get to see Beale play.

Yeah but no one cares about you Hughie
Glas,
I wouldn't fear waking them up once it gets to 9. Before that maybe, but from then on I wouldn't worry.

I think it's fair enough I was up before 9 today btw, as I am every Saturday
Munsty; it is such a shame. But they appear to have decided to play a bit today! Again Beale starts it.

I have a feeling the Tahs will score one more try then as is their want, they'll just go right down to first gear and let the Highlanders back in who are already looking threatening.

Being bored at work I'm trying to think of a best XV of the last 10 years in test rugby (2001-2011) but I can't come up with a left wing or tighthead. Any ideas?

Well when you live alone someone has to do your household chores, and that's usually me, so that's what I've been doing - just having a break now. I was up at 7ish tho.

But I was still up very early in the day
Right I've a question, I was in a bar last night that stays open till 6 in the morning, tiny little place which is a restaurant during the day. My question is, is it wrong of me to question the ethics of the people who run this place?? Reason being they would be Muslims who's culture and society forbids alcohol but they are more than happy to open till 6 for pished up people to get more drink

Are they practising Muslims Hughie? Also, if they're licensed to sell food they can stay open late anyway, so they could be encouraging people to eat not drink booze - that's the choice of the punters.

Hughie you delivered the papers, hence did something constructive.
By the way 7 o clock garderning is fine by me.
The moral question you raise us equivalent to the one raised by peace loving western democracies selling weapons to the developing world.

Hughie,
Are the practising Muslims Hughie or just from Muslim backgrounds?
Because you could say a lot of the same things about people from very Catholic backgrounds.
