The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Went to the doctors about my shoulder yesterday (after the hospital told me nothing was wrong a month ago!) i'm not on a 3 week anti-inflammatory course, booked in for a scan and need either physio or an injection!!

Go for Physio. None of the others consider your muscles which is where the problem may be.

Yesterday I successfully couldn't run due to a problem with my shin, couldn't swim due to swimming times and couldn't do weights due to my shoulder....was so bored!!

Afternoon - just a very brief visit.
After the convo the other day on Leicestershire Council being unprepared for an attack of the zombies, I thought I would share the latest information from the (American) Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. Ignore this at your peril

Yeah, gutted for them. Two really soft tries in the first half cost them the game.

Hi pub.
I had to watch all three lord the rings movies in three days and it was a nightmare. Don't know how you could do it in one day. They're soooo long. They wouldn't be so long if half of it wasn't in slow motion with pan pipes playing in the background. I hated those films.

Very envious of you Munsty. Ok all a shrot discussion which of these do you consider best value bet ahead of the World Cup:
New Zealand v Ireland Final - 25 to 1
Samoa to qualify from Pool D - 7 to 1
Argentina to finish Top of Pool B - 5 to 1
Toulouse to win Heineken Cup 2012 - 11 to 2
Bath to win Premiership 2012 - 8 to 1
Bath to finish top of the West Countries (ahead of Glaws & Chiefs) - 4 to 1
Hosea Gear to finish tournaments top try scorer - 5 to 1
Todays Stormers v Bulls game to finish a draw - 20 to 1
What you think?

I consider Samoa to qualify from Pool D to be excellent value. An outside chance, but a very real chance for a gifted Samoan side.

I'm just surprised I didn't excite the swear filter
If anyone is watching, Sharks have made an astonishing comeback away against the Lions. It's now 30-30 after being 30-9 at one point. Four minutes to go.
Lambie and Michalak playing what Gibbo call shexshy rugby.

Lambie is a serious talent. Michalak is also but way too inconsistent for my liking.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Michalak has his on days, and he's come off the bench and helped change this game. He's good to come on when you're behind and need tries like the Sharks were here.
Lambie looks seriously good, and his kicking is excellent. That is full time. A draw both teams will be kind of annoyed with.

Ah, Roddy Doyle, Cari. Fair do's.
Notch - the last quarter of that game was pretty good; the rest of it was 'thud and blunder'. Stormers v Bulls is one hard game. The Saffers must love 'car crash' rugby.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Thud and blunder is a more appropriate epithet for this game than the previous. The first half of the Lions-Sharks was poor but at least they played some decent rugby in the end. This is physical but so error-strewn.

Ter informatie:
Being emailing Ummm, and he is getting involved in setting up an Official Connacht Supporters Website. They have NONE, which is not on in this day and age.
Anyway, he asked me if I could promote it on here and on FB. I will. They are trying to promote the province to help it grow. Good stuff. It will be 20 Euro to join and that entitles you to a free ML game at the SG - so that covers a ticket. Cash back.
I also heard, that some well-off Leinster fans (Mickado said it I think) have bought Connacht Season Tickets and will travel to the SG, when Leinster are playing out of the country. Cool eh? Cross-provincial support is a great way to help them grow. I'm in anyway and would love to get to the SG, at least once next season.
I will keep ye all in the Loop, as well as those outside the Pub and on Faceache.
Bedankt.

Good idea. Fair play to ummm,
I don't like the season ticket idea though. Could end up taking tickets AWAY from Connacht fans. Ironically we just had a thread on this, with a Leinster fan complaining that some Leinster fans buy season tickets but don't go to the smaller games!

Connacht have an official site.
I think what Gibbo means is they don't have a dedicated fans site run by supporters like the other provinces. Munsterfans and Leinsterfans are very popular whilst Ulster have the UAFC and the FRU.

Oh I see. Well Connacht fans can't gripe about the season tickets being picked up by Leinster fans then - doesn't sound like they would.

Notch,
Have you seen their crowds? I dont think its a problem. Is only a handful anyway and they could badly do with the support.
As for Leinster Season Ticket holders just using it for the big ML games and the HC - Guilty! But, over the last 5 or 6 years, traveling from NL to Dublin - it has always been an away game for me. And having traveled all over Europe with them, in the same time period, I dont feel bad about it.
Besides, my ticket has been used by my sis-in-law and she has never, ever, missed a game. She has her own Season Ticket now. She also gets to all the HC Home and Away games now. Huge ex Man Utd fan now a Leinster fan.
I have opted out this season, because I can not justify it any more. I will be traveling also, so no point in commiting to one next season. And now, they have to source me HC tickets.
Karma.

For what it's worth, I did disagree with the article
If you put your hard cash up front, regardless of the teams success or failure, regardless of the weather or opposition, you deserve a bit of latitude.

Exactly Notch. He did specify an Officially recognised and affiliated Supporters Club. Like the OLSC and the UAFC.
But, I had not checked and that looks pretty good to me. Sooo. Ive emailed him to be more specific.
