Retallick and Barrett, NZers, and Maitland, a kiwi playing for Scotland, and CJ Stander, a S African playing for Ireland have been nominated for the top try of the year award.
This just keeps getting better.

Maitland and Stander just took the last pass for both of their tries. The best part of each came earlier on in the move. For maitlands try the pass from Russell and the run from Huw Jones was the remarkable part. Likewise for Standers try it was the ridiculous pass from Furlong that was key.

Pretty funny. In the past those teams would have had a local fumbling the final pass.

Oh of course I expected that. Thing is, seems you need SHers to actually score the tries for you, because, well, your promising winger of the year ain't got any. Such a predictable answer you miss the fun in all this. You 'need' SH players to have success. (Dont see any Tongan schoolboys in our list either)

Eh no Ireland doesnt need SHers to score our tries. Our top scorer this year and top try scorer of the 6 nations overall was Jacob Stockdale you total dope.
Larmour has mainly been a sub to date. Stockdale is the main try scoring winger.

Biltong, I’m no supporter of Guns, Collapse (or whatever his latest 606v2 account is) but it seems you only ever seem to moderate NH fans. Might be worth checking your remit?

True. This forum has had its day. Even the mods are making articles to encourage wumming and then taking sides. At least the 606 mods were incompetent but basically neutral.

Also, I opened that thread as a continuation of what was discussed on the thread "rugby championship" as it reached 1000 comments, which has always been the limit we go to.

Probably go for Barretts or Standers to win it, both being the one play. The others required several which could mean Scotlands if theyre looking for an all round team try.
Although it was a rare dummy and run at the end of a match for Retallick I dont think theyll go that one unless theyre looking for uniqueness as not many like that are scored.
All good tries. I thought barretts vs Oz last week was one of the slickest planned moves of the year.

Are you seriously suggesting or strongly hinting that World Mod of the Year will once again come from the SH?
Gotta say I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist - except for maybe believing that the Mafia paid off John Lennon to assassinate JFK and then spirited him away to the secret Nazi base on the dark side of the moon, and that his own killing was a Mosad falseflag operation to allow him to ghostwrite some smashing songs for their Eurovision entries without killing his own reputation.....
... but that award for Mods, and SH mods getting it every damn year....................................... it is fishy.

I think Scotland's try was the most impressive from one end to the other it had pretty much everything. Ireland's move was the best pre-planned move but Scotland's was the best try.
I'm sure Cyril will agree with me.

Not seen the Irish try, but I I would imagine it was a choke tackle that collapsed over the line and was ‘touched down’ by Toner’s knee. About as attractive as a Leo Cullen lookalike competition.

Yep it could go that way for that reason. There were from memory three breakdowns and reloads so its one where more of the whole team were involved than others. An initial stunning break- they all had that from deep then fast turnover to maintain the momentum.
It just depends on what criteria they use this year. I would have Retallicks last but can see why certain criteria would have it first, one being that a lock can have that much runningvand skill in him near the end of what was a very busy 80 minutes for him anyway.
We get a lot of these types of tries in Super rugby and it wouldnt take long to find better ones there but test level is another thing again.

Not at their best he hasnt which is why Barrett has won it twice already. A few missed goal kicks dont seem to matter.
Barretts had the best individual test in probably three years against oz. four tries, nearly five in a sublime performance.
Ioane with 11 tries in 8 tests keeps him in the number one wing spot ahead of Dyantyi and Stockdale, May.
Sexton would be there for consistency of performance. Might get it on that basis though Ioane and Marx, at test level might as well.
Retallick and Furlong probably the unlucky ones.

Personally I think Retallicks the best player in rugby at the moment. A few less tests, as was the case last year means hes not in contention but as a lock the complete player for his position, and adds to it with punishing defence and around the field work via the biggest engine in rugby. And, rarely plays a poor test.

Yes Faf has been good alright I would have shortlisted him. However, he wasnt great v Argentina and his box kicking has been poor so cant see him winning.
