Kiss of death Collapse. Throws an interception himself albeit via the full back's chest.

Time to bring on a few subs now so they can have some valuable gametime. No point throwing them on with 10 minutes left.

Bizarre game in the sense of the lack of intensity, Italy continue to disappoint.

Hope this Larmour performance (albeit against Italy) is the end of Kearney starting at 15.
The second row is interesting, Beirne and Ryan are the form players but might leave the lineout exposed without Toner. Henderson should travel and is a good bench option as he covers 6 as well.

It won't be.
Real work starts now and of course Joe likes the intelligence of his main guys over the colour and sparkle of someone like Larmour. He's on his way but Kearney will be central to Joe's thinking (provided he stays fit) for one more year anyway.

In 2003 in the build up to England winning the world cup, I'm pretty sure Lewsey broke into the team to replace Balshaw. I'm hoping for the same this time with Ireland and Larmour

The thing is I don't think Kearney is more solid than Larmour, I don't think he's a particularly intelligent player either. See the recent Aus tour when Kearney who has almost zero counter attacking ability at this stage of the career makes the repeated option of running the ball back at full speed in a straight line into contact. I honestly think he's a liability, what facets of Kearney's game are we continuing to pick him for? The only thing I can see is his ability under the high ball. His attack and passing are non existent and his decision making in defense is not what I would describe as intelligent.

Look, I've been a critic of Kearney's straight runs at the opposition for quite a few years now but... well by intelligence I mean that Joe has faith in five or six of the his mainstay players controlling the tempo of a game... managing the conditions... rolling up the sleeves to sit hard in defence for long shifts when needed.
I just think Kearney will be the big game choice for the year that's in it. Larmour will get games. He'll get 6N games. Kearney will probably be protected and rested more for that end of season WC.
Maybe come WC time, Larmour will indeed have proven himself a trusted starter at 15...but for now, I don't see Kearney suddenly being dropped into International retirement just yet.

I think Hansen isn't far off in thinking Murray's injury out-period might prove to have been a bit of a stunt. All the no info intrigue and now talk that he might be okay to go for the year's big one..... great timing if it happens.

van der Flier perhaps a bit over exuberant in the first half, given away a couple of penalties going for steals that weren't really on. Some very good turnovers in the second half though. The thing is, he goes for steals that are right on the cusp of what he might get away with, it's fairly high risk high reward breakdown work. I think Leavy will definitely get the nod and Schmidt will find it difficult to leave out O'Brien. Is there room for van der Flier as well?
Aside from that, I was a bit annoyed at Cooney getting ten minutes at the end. What on earth is the point of giving him ten minutes when we are winning by 50 points. It's not an opportunity, he might get a start against Japan but I struggle to see him being involved much against Argentina or New Zealand especially given that Murray may be back. If he does have to play against Argentina or New Zealand then the lack of exposure we've had to opportunity the give him could hurt.

It was a 47 point win. That doesnt happen that often v Italy. 2001 was the last time England won by more than 47 v Italy. Cant complain really.

‘Im’ is the Irish word for butter. The contraction for ‘I am’ requires the use of an apostrophe - ‘I’m’.
Your atrocious grammar, spelling and sentence structure are inexcrable. As is your opinion of, and insight to, the game of rugby. Sniffing van Esbeck’s bottled odours will not improve either of them.
I recommend a total lobotomy and a long lie-down.
Love and kisses.

Yes - that’s the limit of your thinking and eh, humour, that you expressed once before. Unsurprisingly, neither have improved with repetition. Maybe you should just comment on the game rather than anonymous posters.

Re: Ireland Squad Nov 2018 - Who’s going to play errr England?
Job done. First half was sloppy but it was impressive how they changed gear at half time.
Beirne and Larmour the big winners. Larmour is a bit raw yet and learning the game but his basics are very solid. So hopefully he can get the fullback spot. We'll have a genuine world class attacking talent at fullback then.
Beirne is making it hard to be left out of the starting 15. I think himself and Ryan will be first choice now with Henderson making an impact off the bench. Toner will still be a big part of the squad and there'll be plenty of rotation.

Devin (tallest man in world rugby) Toner is the first lock on the list for the big games. Joe needs him as a lineout banker, his partner will be Ryan because he is frankly phenomenal and it will be between Henderson and Beirne for the bench. Those four will go to Japan.

He residency qualifies in June 2019. As does Jamison Gibson Park I understand.
Would Schmidt bring either of them in at that late stage?

Probably not however, we will know by the start of the six nations next year because they may be added to pre six nations training camps as Schmidt tends to do for players he wants to include later on down the line.

Yup, fantastic options to have. When you add Roux and Dillane to the mix , and Kleyn to qualify, the 2nd row position is almost as competitive as back row.
I've been really impressed with Beirne over the past month or so, he looks every bit the player he was at Scarlets. He'd have been my MOTM on Saturday, followed by Ruddock who another guy in super form. Porter had a great game at tight head as well.
In terms of the half backs no one really stood out but Byrne and Cooney looked a bit sharper when they came on but probably not enough to jump the pecking order.
In the backs Larmour stole the show with the hat trick but Stockdale, Aki and Ringrose looked solid and presumably will feature against NZ. Not sure about Conway at this level if he offers enough threat.
Overall a reasonable enough performance against weak opposition.

Yes and he's been in good form coming into the game as well. Unfortunately he didn't manage to have too much impact thereafter but was solid under the high ball and in defense so i expect he will start against either Argentina or NZ.
I have a feeling Larmour and Earls will start against the all blacks with Kearney at 15, so maybe Stockdale will start next week again.

Nah. The silly eejit ruined his chances by saying he isn't afraid of them (the ABs).
That sunk him. Joe won't want having any jinx players on that team on that day. He'll be a water boy.

I think we'll put a real beating on them myself, I think they are in for a shock and will wish they were back in soldier field come 80min.
They've managed to get off the hook a few times in the rugby championship but I think the world order is going to shift in 2 weeks time wait and see.

Love the confidence Rodders. I definitely believe Ireland's pack is now stronger than New Zealand's and pretty much everyone's. Front row, back row and second row depth is very tasty. We could actually field two completely different packs that could compete with the ABs now.
The game can go lots of different ways. I cant wait, tickets secured.

I mean look you have to respect the ABs, they're ability to absorb pressure and come out the end of the game with more points on the board than the opposition is unreal. Over the past 18 months or so I think this is it what sets them apart more so than being superior than their opponents.
This is there first time I can remember where I would look at our two sides and feel we have a genuine chance of beating them rather than just shutting them down and hoping for a bit of luck.
The way the fixtures have fallen I think we have a super chance to back up the Soldier field victory and to be honest don't see us needing to do anything special to do it, just show up and bring our 'a' game.
Post Chicago the likes of Furlong. Sexton, O'Brien and Murray were all key men for the the Lions so I don't feel they have the mental edge they once did either so I really feel good about this one.
