I’m glad Hastings was there, no way Kinghorn would have made that one

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Another dreadful Scotland half. Injuries and peculiar breakdown interpretation hasn't helped, but Wales are so utterly dominant they should be much further ahead.
Given Wales are s 2nd half team and we're really not, this is going to be a long 2nd 40 minutes.

We don't look like we have any belief at all, we're just sat back trying desperately to minimise the final score

Wales the better team so far but Scotland can feel a little hard done by to get pinged for what looked like a good turnover for being off feet when Wales have been clearly off feet multiple times when scooping the ball back or just slowing down Scotland ball. Scotland back luck with injuries continues too.

You also know it's not your day when Jiffy admits the first try was a forward pass!

What's frustrating is that we're so comprehensively being outplayed these decisions don't even hurt too bad.

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Ritchie started on his feet but seemed to be on his side/hip when he twisted out and showed he had turned the ball over. Perhaps that’s what the ref saw.

I thought Ritchie made a good turnover too but the rest of your post is BS. Why the hell do we still read this on every Wales thread? RDW it’s time you set up that other thread I mentioned so the English can go there and ref-blame, the rest of us would like to talk rugby. Thanks.

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Yeah, ref's being fussy at the breakdown. AWJ and Moriarty penalties were similarly soft - I'd say Ritchie's fine, but you have to see it in context of his other decisions. He clearly wants it to be clean, which should improve the game, but it does mean Wales are looking better because they're cleaning out their own ball well. Don't see Wales going off feet to slow Scotland's ball down - ref perhaps giving more leeway to players on the ball, then cleared off feet (which makes the Ritchie call even worse) but by and large I see no difference in applying the law between both teams.

I don’t get how they can say the replay was slow mo, when it showed him touch the player on the floor, hence not supporting.
Seems a few reffing decisions being highlighted one way. We could all call offsides, or find decisions that are missed.
I still don’t feel comfortable for 9 points up.

Do we need to bring Vern back? It’s the basics we’re utterly fecking up

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Yeah sure Mikey ... I'm the only one who saw Welsh players off their feet handling the ball am I? And as far as ref blaming, I didn't even mention the forward pass for the 1st try as I knew you'd be straight on it playing the persecution complex. Observing officiating errors isn't anti-Welsh.

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Also, not getting points there - either 3 or 5 - might hurt Wales. Two tries scored, a 9 point lead could have been 12. This game isn't over but the bonus point try looks entirely plausible for Wales. Any points they can add all help the chances of winning the title overall.
Probably not the time to be discussing this - a quick Scottish try and this game is on - but the short answer is Scotland overall have regressed since he left.

Pretty simple job now, play fast expansive rugby and try not to over think defence. It’s too leaky with the inexperienced players on the field but those young guys are good attackers. It’s a real kick in the teeth to lose Kinghorn and Seymour, what bad luck. This is grey World Cup prep though so every silver lining

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Ultimately we could debate the breakdown all day long, but the reality is Wales are miles ahead of us and should win this at a canter.
If we don't score first it could get messy.

Oh dear Heaf way to go proving the point that I first brought up last year. Stop crying to the mods and get off this thread, you English are clearly still bitter and are adding nothing of value here. Let us real fans talk about rugby without your wumming and ref-blaming #EveryThread

I’d be more tempted to get a new defence coach possibly (I rate Matt Taylor though). Perhaps they need to mix it up a bit there because it’s been an issue for a while against these better teams.

Yes and Scotland have gained a lot of ground playing the Glasgow way, I think they have a couple tries in them.

Re: Six Nations round 4 Scotland vs Wales
Scotland's issue is the platform/overall power in the team. Scotland hampered massivly by injuries in this game...but also that's a consequence of the physical difference between the two teams. Most/all injuries seemed to occur in contact. Sort that out and they become truly competitive: don't, and they won't.
Game's still there though. Not over yet.

Er crying to the mods?
And if you bothered to look you'd see I did say Wales were the better team - but that doesn't suit your narrative does it that everyone is anti-Welsh.

I normally do but today he decided I was the one he was going to pick on for some reason and I bit, even though I know I should rise above it ... I hadn't said anything that others hadn't. I think me being English is what he's objecting to.

Scotland being very clever pinning players in the ruck and getting the penalty. I think that’s 3 penalties won now. Not knocking it. Very clever.
