13-0 nice lead. Though I remember Ireland beating us 30 odd nil one year and we fought back quite well. The Irish fight back after half time will be nerve wracking.

So Wales grand slam then.
So they go to the world cup as the Northern Hemisphere's main title challengers...carrying the flag for the 6n..

Re: Wales vs Ireland - Round 5
That didn't look like a penalty at the scrum to me. Wales got the nudge then Ireland drove back and Moriarty picked it up as Wales started to wheel under the pressure. To ping the Irish loosehead for going down is very harsh.

Very poor half from Ireland and a decent enough one from Wales, they have taken their points and gotten a decent lead now

And that score was flattering to Ireland.Shifty wrote:13-0 nice lead. Though I remember Ireland beating us 30 odd nil one year and we fought back quite well. The Irish fight back after half time will be nerve wracking.
16-0 still not reflective of the Welsh dominance.

16-0
Offer me that before the game at half time and I'd of bitten your hand off. The Irish fight back though is going to be horrible for Wales fans .

Awful tournament for the Irish, that half summed it up. Didn't adjust to conditions, didn't adjust to the referee, errors a-plenty and it's likely game over.

Re: Wales vs Ireland - Round 5
Hopefully ref will review his 1st half... Ireland in the red zone on the attack twice Tipuric and AWJ offside and lying over the ball
Wales good for the lead though too many silly mistakes from Ireland. Wales should cruise this in the 2nd half

Re: Wales vs Ireland - Round 5
Well i am very surprised that Ireland have not scored any points in the first half.
If Wales lose this now they should be a shamed of them selves.
It as been like men against boys at times.
As things stand Wales will win the Grand Slam.

If Ireland do give themselves a kick up the arse second half it will be an absolutely horrid 40 minutes for you Welsh fans but ace for us neutrals. For what it’s worth, Wales look good value at the moment.

As soon as you leave your feet and slide tackle another player it's a penalty. Definite kick out of the leg to catch Earles when he doesn't initially go to floor.
Wales attack has been pretty mediocre for most of the tournament but it's turned up today. Defence is excellent as per usual. Ireland haven't got out of second gear.
Seems you were right - should have been yellow ...

Seems Ireland peaked 6 months ago, they've been pretty dire today.
Can't wait to see what Gatland does with England if he can do a slam with this Welsh side, the guy is a magician!

Eddie Butler is a completely useless commentator. Doesn't even know why the referee is giving certain penalties, even though the referee is clearly explaining why.

Re: Wales vs Ireland - Round 5
So far this game is a sort of replay of the Wales win over England (30-3?) a few years ago, Wales have momentum and are getting he 50/50 calls because Ireland are under pressure and making mistakes.

Ireland at the moment do not look like scoring any points at all.
Any one know if Ireland have been score less in the 6ns? Because the way they are playing this could well be the day.
