There once was a tournament called Queens
Full of toffs and people of means
They didn't think it funny
When finals day was not sunny
So they all went home and ate baked beans

Today I went to Eastbourne
For tennis on the green lawn
It rained all day
There was no play
Serena and Venus were forlorn

(as was I!)

It rained and rained and rained today,
The grass looks lushly green for play,
In few more days they'll all be there,
And lovely lily white they'll wear.

Boys and girls and gents and dames
Will all be wanting balls with names
Lovely Ana then mighty Fed,
Williams sisters by Joker led.

On Henman Mound or Murray Hill
Fans will be waying while there's a will
And as for me, but not the rest,
From heart I'll be cheering Nole - the best

My little westie is fast asleep
To get my treats I have to creep
This bloody rain won't go away
I hope tomorrow we have some play
I will spray my westie red and blue!

Your little westie is quite alwhite
So leave the poor little beggar alone tonight
The rain will stop put away that paint
Because a puppy he is ...a flag he aint

Little Maisie is now in bed
All nice and white no sign of red
Tomorrow she has first vet jab
Nothing much, she has some flab
She yells as much as Mr Murray!

Doggies hate vets LK
No matter what their owner says
A snip snip here
And a snip snip there
And SUDDENLY male dogs don't care

My cats have come back soaking wet
Why on earth did I have pets?
All I need is a nice cold beer
And to hear the Queens crowd cheer
Murray Murray we love you

When my little Rose was just a pup
I took her along to the local training club
She made a friend, a little Westie
Whose name I thought was one of the bestie
He'd been named Wilson, perhaps after the racquet
But with much envy, in class he was the full package
But it wasn't with him that Rose liked best to play
But with a scruffy terrier just like Andy's Maggie May

I can't think of a word that rhymes with Pekenese

about to sneeze

Or ... wheeze; freeze; please; tease; breeze

... we've got "form" for limericks on our threads. Can you tell??
