24 off two...
Four sixes would be nice . Where's Brathwaite ?

22 of 10! What a game! Neesham with the ball for the 49th. They need to go for it.

Plunkett goes, a shame as he was striking well. Rashid or Archer next? Archer!
Stokes must find a few big shots off Neesham's last three.

They did it to stokes in the Sri Lanka game, the lower order should not let Stokes down here.

Oh my goodness, Boult catches Stokes but treads on the rope. He didn't realise. Unbelievable.

Plunkett caught deep...
Stokes going to have to nail some sixes. Archer coming in...I'm not sure that's wise . Rashid might be a better bet ...we need singles to keep Stokes on strike as no one else can do this...

Can't blame Archer for that.
15 off 6. Stokes and Boult to duel for the trophy. What a game.

Ben Stokes in the last over of a World Cup final. Again. Country is with you Ben. Win or lose.

Two dots followed by a six. Can Stokes find one more maximum? Sport at its best.

That is beyond words. The greatest game of cricket I've seen since Edgbaston 2005. Absolute drama.
Super over? I'd be happy to share the trophy, to be honest. Three batsmen needed? You'd have to favour England as they have more powerful hitters. Stokes is surely too exhausted to carry on.

Have to say I find it odd they dont count wickets, as much as I want England to win and the tie is exciting I do feel NZ were moral victors there.

NZ dead unlucky not to have sealed it , to be fair. Fieldsman takes a catch and treads on the rope...four overthrows off an accidental rebound from the bat...
It's almost a raffle now.

We have a Super Over to decide the Cricket World Cup and a Final Set Tiebreaker to decide the Wimbledon Final (they went to 12-12 in the final set).

Disgree. Its one over, you have to have stokes whos switched on and hitting well. The others wouldnt have been warmed up to come in.
Stokes, Buttler, Roy for me
Archer or Woakes to bowl?

Apparently England win if the super over is tied as they scored more boundaries in their innings

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup - Part 4
Think both sides deserve to share the title. Not liking the super over. England have the greater power hitting battery, so they go in as favorits, but New Zealand have shown they are here to fight.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup - Part 4
To be honest it would be fairer to share the trophy but they can't do that.
Whoever loses is dead stiff. Has to be the best ever final in a WC , surely ? For excitement , not quality , I mean.

Three batsmen? Buttler, Roy and Stokes? Or Buttler, Roy and Bairstow?
Boult surely to bowl for NZ. Archer for England? Maybe Woakes?
If it's a tie it goes to who scored the most boundaries. England are well ahead on that count currently (24-16).

Boult could have easily threw that catch to his teammate, but he didn't realise he was so close to the rope. My word. NZ win it if he realises.
What's a good score? Anything above 12?

I wouldn't use Roy. He had a horrible innings today. Not sure who I would use , tbh
Hope Jos and Ben can do the business.
Who bowls for England ? Archer I guess. Hope he can keep his cool.

Three off the first. Good start. If England do win from here, it's an incredible story of redemption for Stokes. Still wouldn't have sent him out there for this. He's knackered.

Buttler finds a four with the very last. Boult didn't bowl well there.
15. Should be enough. Should be. Fate has offered England a massive hand today.

Fifteen to defend. No wides , Joffra !
Think he should pitch it up and use his pace. Short balls might go anywhere .

I don't think it is fair for the cup to be shared - it doesn't happen in other team sports. So I am happy with the super over concept.
