Two games left. If Ireland get a TBP win on Saturday they qualify for the quarter finals irrespective of the result on Sunday. Any other result and they need to wait and see what happens between Japan and Scotland.
Any win for Japan and they will top the group (in fact a draw or losing with two bonus points will guarantee the same)
Most interesting scenario is if Ireland win without a bonus point - opening up a chance for Scotland to top the group if all 3 teams end up on 15pts and Scotland are able to keep their points difference ahead of Ireland.

There is no way Gardner is going to let Ireland back into this game. Need something special.

There are some that say that Ireland is not the same team when they don't have Sexton...they might be right...

Good win for Japan, i don't understand what's happened to Ireland this year, they're capitulating all over the place. World cup wins are built on a strong pack but you need some flair too which they're hugely lacking.

One of the most one sided refereeing performances Ive seen in a while, although Japan may not have needed it as they were really good.

Brilliant win for Japan and fantastic for the tournament as a whole. They should win their remaining games, meaning Scotland are on the verge of going out.

This will put a dent in Irish hopes and confidence.

I think Ireland were so shot mentally and physically they just wanted to get off the pitch with a LBP. They don’t have the skills or ambition to go the length of the field.

Your assuming Ireland beat Samoa, on this form that is not guaranteed

Should have kept the ball in hand and tried to go for the draw. Lack of confidence. Probably would have given a penalty away or conceded another try.

At least we got something out of the game. Very bad altogether.
