Re: Leicester Tigers 2019-20
The positives you are linking solely to Geordie are a bit tenuous to say the least Sam. Suggesting England should be happy because he gave a young player his debut is weak.
I just find his appointment in each role (with pretty much no qualifications) baffling, especially from such a power house of a club. His departure has been a long time coming.

Far more than giving one player a game. He's brought nearly a dozen EQ players onto playing for the Tigers first team. He changed a system where our development players didn't go out on loan to where they all went out on loan at whatever level they could find a club so that the young players adapted to the physical demands of senior rugby. It a change in mindset from where academy graduates might make it to where the expectation is they should make it with the right attitude and hard work.
He's brought back in Tigers graduates that have moved on to try and reinforce the idea as well. There was a definite change in ethos. He wasn't head coach material and never was, he was given the job in the short term until we got the head coach we wanted on the basis he had a vision of where the club needed to be long term. I couldn't wait for his tenure as head coach to end but as a DOR or head of rugby operations I though he had a future.
