Japan V Scotland (if it's on)
First topic message reminder :
MATCH 40
SUNDAY 13 OCTOBER
KICK OFF (UK TIME)
11:45
SCOTLAND
WORLD RANKING 9TH
Referee: Ben O'Keeffe
International Stadium Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama City
(Or not at all)
Is this Schrodinger's game in that it can be considered both on and cancelled at the same time? I'm sure Jimbo will correct me in my interpretation....

Humiliating, and not the first time.
As I've said the positive is that a great team get a real chance in the QFs and we get rid of toonie.

We don’t want this as much as Japan and we can’t sue our way out if this
At least Scotland were willing to do everything they could to get to the game and give themselves a fighting chance, as opposed to allowing RWC call another one off.

Doubt it. Japan are far less complacent than England. Even so Japan will get through.

Should have been a Japanese penalty for that Richie attack.

At least a penalty anyway based on prevous.
On Brown? Nope. Arm always tucked into his body before contact and then used to just shove Brown away after. Poor tackle technique, if your opposition player has that kind of height advantage on you then you go low and drive up. Aiming higher on the body always puts you in range of an elbow.
The Hogg neck roll in the build up to the Dell try though, surprised that wasn't reviewed given the current climate. Hogg definitely had one arm in and around the neck at one of the breakdowns near the 22.

Richie is a great player. I was so impressed by him in the 6N. But he was still losing it. Not so impressed with assaulting the opposition player on the ground.

Arms are on the floor then he lifts. He'd also played it on the floor in at least two rucks prior to that slowing the Japan ball. He's playing the ref extremely well. If Scotland fight back to victory he'll have to be in the MOTM discussion.

Agreed on Ritchie. He's been influential. After the 15 or Japanese players he definitely comes into the MOTM discussion....
